I miss Seatown Forest. MY character was sent to compile a map and collect rubber about 5 years ago. She is finally halfway home.

How long have you been in there? YEARS, hasn't it been? last time I had a char in that building there was knocking too...but we couldn't do anything about it.

This time, though, one of us has a crowbar. Lucky you.

We'll be VERY interested to learn how whoever's in there got there.

Since u'r open about your chars, would you mind saying if the one you're talking about is S or W?

You missed a few days here and there. When one of my other chars was smelting in there about 3 years ago there was no knocking. unless it was 4 years ago or something.

You mean, if skills can change over age rather than just having a fixed amount or certain skills? Maybe it'd require the person to do a certain amount of whatever skill they are earning in order to get a higher ranking in it. If this was already stated, dont mind me.

Back on the original topic after a long time, has there ever been a true democracy or republic in cantr? most places seem to have elections once a revolution at best.

Well, yeah, it'd require a lot more people for a true democracy, and not even the states is a true democracy, if you read the constitution, its a Democratic Republic, which is pretty damned near close.

You get a different subsection of character types in cantr than IRL...there are many more people in cantr who just want power for themselves and won't work with the system.

It's easier to get away with that in cantr, too.

The only society that ever got close to a true democracy in real life were the Greeks a long, long time ago and it failed miserably because of the whole tyrant thing and Plato makes the whole argument as to why it will always fail in the Republic. It was the Romans that later took the idea from the Greeks and formed what we consider a Republic today but it had to maybe faults with it and gave too much power. It wasn't until later that the US came the closest to a true democracy when it broke away from England. The Americans took the idea from the Romans and then added the ideas of the philosophers of the Renaissance Era to make it so that one one person or group could never come to full power. So far it has worked but it isn't a true democracy.

The closest that I think that comes to a true democracy is Quillanoi.

But the last "election" was an appointment. The same thing happened in KF. The council failed because no one wanted to run. It makes no sense to me. Everyone seems to want power but when it's offered to them they're like, "meh..." People in cantr seem to much prefer taking power through force and revolution so that they can start their own system or they don't want power at all. There don't seem to be many moderately ambitious people who are willing to gain power under someone else's system. Everyone is either a sheep or a bloody rabble-rousing revolutionary.
