Sleeping in the wild....

OK... now that furniture seems to work, and that tiredness has been amplified, what do people do if they don't have a bed?
If people are tired enough to die, they should be able to sleep on the ground rather than stay up until death.
Perhaps a simple button somewhere could do this? Of course, not as effective as furniture.
Out of all these screwovers added to Cantr recently, cut us some slack?

I was thrilled when I saw that the beds and things work now, but I thought they were to address the current problems with resting; I didn't realize the effects of tiredness would be ramped up even more, until I checked my characters and saw the shape they were in. I hate to complain when at least some steps have finally been made to put things right, but right now I'm not sure if this "solution" makes things better or worse...

Also, even if I do manage to scrape together materials for a cot, do I also have to have a building to put it in? (Or is that another one of those things I need to find out in game?) If that is the case, a way to sleep on the ground would really be appreciated right now, or at the very least some sort of hide sleeping bag.

Good idea.
Fur is actually quite rare. I never realised how rare it was till I needed it.
I dont see why I can't make a cot if I don't have fur.
For the same principle it's ridiculous you can't have a sword without a leather grip.

Anyways, cot are manufacturable outside, hopefully not giving anything away there. And there are alternatives of course.

However, I agree, and believe that not working on a project should default as a rough way of regaining tiredness (not as effective as a cot) but still gradual.

And even hide is pretty hard to come by if your character is sitting in a ghost town holding nothing but a week's worth of food and one other (equally weaponless) awake person to keep her company. Plenty of animals, but somehow I doubt she'll be able to punch one to death before she falls over dead from exhaustion. Right now she can't even finish her farming project, and at least in the direction she came from there are three nearly abandoned forests between her and people who might be convinced to give her food.

On another note, I really do like the coin press, we've been needing something like that for a long time. (And it'll come in handy if this char long enough to start her business...) I'm curious if there'll be a way to melt coins down after they're made, though.

And just how many people do you think will get to use the Drojf public cot? Especially when every passing newspawn bum who's worked so far four days in their entire lives will invariably grab it first?

Unless I'm missing it, there seems to be no obvious way to tell who is using the furniture to rest. This will be a problem precisely because of the above issue. Someone can conceivably plant themselves there indefinitely making it unusable for anyone else and there is no way to tell who is doing it, so law enforcement or town leaders (if they exist) will be unable to address the situation.

I think the resting project shows up on the activity list like any other project while it is on going.

Maybe it's just me, but I think that this amplification of tiredness is a bug.

Have you seen this with your own eyes or are you only giving your opinion? Because I have in fact looked and it does not seem to be listed there.

It showed up as an activity for me.

I don't want to belabor this (I know, too late.) However.... are you talking about seeing resting as an activity for yourself or someone else? As you can see in the example I gave, I am talking about others being able to see it as an activity and the person engaged in that activity when someone else is using the cot, bed, or whatever.

If you are talking about being able to identify someone else using the furniture, then indeed there must be a bug, because I currently have an example of a cot which gives the error of being used, but is not listed on the activities roster.

The project should be listed on the activities page, and it will disappear automatically when the occupant (and partipants) stops using it.

As for Sociologist's comment (constant whining), as someone said, there is law enforcement for a reason -perhaps to drag a cot hoarder off the cot. Also, Drojf is such a developed town that it does not need outdoor cots, and can build their's in locked buildings.

Yep, is does do this, but it seems when someone uses it then stops nobody else can use it. Already posted a support thread.

OFF TOPIC!!!!

I have a knife specifically designed for topic hijackers. This is about alternatives to furniture. There are plenty of tiredness threads, this is NOT just a generic venting ground for people to talk about tiredness.
