Games like this...

I came from a "link of the day" on UserFriendly.Org, and so far I've enjoyed my stay here in Cantr land. This is not my first RPG, but the first I've played that's like this. I even installed the "Russian Keyboard" option for XP so I could use it... although I haven't run across anybody speaking Russian yet
Since we're down right now, my question for you (the experts) is:
Are there other games like this? What's your opinion of them (better, worse)?
I'd like to spend the first part of the weekend checking out the competition, as it were

I played a game some what like this. Its called Utopia. Its a mudd that lets you rule over a province in a kingdom of 25 other players. You elect a king and build your lands. And then fight other kingdoms. It was fun for me when I first started out but after the same thing over and over it kinda got old. via after about 3-4 months it would reset.

Hmm good question. I guess because I left cantr the first time to play that but then left Utopia to play this.
*hangs his head* Why do I even bother trying to explain things. I get myself more confused than everyone else.

There are NO games similiar to Cantr in any way.
You will NOT leave Cantr to play any other crappy game.
Must I get Mr. Brute Force and Mr. Injury to teach you a lesson? Hmm?! HMM?!

Hmm, you make me very curious. Will you tell me if you remember the name? Searching in Google for 'game like Cantr' will probably not help much

The best thing about that search is the bit at the bottom...
Did you mean to search for: 'game like Cancer'

quality.

I'm guessing this 3D cantr-ish game was Runescape. It's very similar to Cantr in many respects and even more similar to what Cantr is changing to.

Ugh. Runescape is NOT similar to cantr any more than most other online RPGs. And it's not a good game, IMOSHO.

A Tale in the Desert is 3d, and very similar. You build up player run towns in an Egypt type enviroment. I've never had the chance to try it, but it looks cool.

It does look nice, their own description: A Tale in the Desert is an online game set in ancient Egypt where players work together to build the perfect society. It uses the internet to allow thousands of players to play together in the same world. All of the characters you will see and talk to in the game are controlled by other people just like you, not by a computer. A Tale in the Desert is the first online game to focus on long-term planning and long-term goals rather than combat. Goals include the creation of great works of art and architecture, becoming a powerful leader, and building wealth.
Negative thing: You do have to pay per month

Pay per month for another game? When you could be donating to support Cantr?
EASY CHOICE!
Donate that money to cantr, instead of joining another game!

The first game? Cantr is older... we should sue!
