Maslow's Hierarchy of Needs

Not that I'm opposed to adding in more detail to everyday activity but isn't the reason why some things are easy having to do with Maslow's Hierarchy of Needs?

Those needs are from the most basic to the highest:

Body Needs {I'm hungry/I need to heal}
Security Needs {I don't like to be hit}
Social Needs {Doing a piece of a larger whole and/or RP}
Ego Needs {I have a role in this location that is needed}
{and there's more but let's stop there}

The more resting and food gathering becomes difficult the more reliance there would be on a goverment or some kind of agreement to work it out.

I was thinking the reason why these things are easy is so that goverments can concentrate at the Security level whihc I think is the IRL norm. If we make everday life harder then the "goverment" or just people in genreal will have to start working together more.

Is that more goverment or just more cooperation. It may not influcence the development of goverments at all by making things harder.

I think the only thing to strengthen the goverments is more organized threats to indiviudal secrity in game. And I'm working on that. :twisted:

I still like the idea of walled towns.

Just something to think about.

"organized threat"? What's that? :roll:

Some very good points though, most of the develped towns for instance have years of food for everyone in the area stored away, long gone are the days when we had to stop everything we were doing to farm food. Plus the good guys have gotten so effective that any organized threat can be wiped out before they really get off the ground, and lone lunatics...only if they got a boat :twisted:

But what if you are a Freudian? No that Iam but what if? I'm sure they wouldn't agree with Maslow's theories.

"Organized threats"? Like the mob?

Well I think walled cities should keep all animals out and people should have to be let in.

Also if weather were added to cantr then the government would have to provide people with not only food, but with shelter. Also if animals were to be more dangerous on the road and less dangerous in t own I think it would add a bit of realism.

Also what about poisones mushrooms and other fruit? Which could be used to kill your enemies. Could you imagine coming ot the emperor with a peace offering which is actually 10000g of poisones mushrooms. Would add a new department for taste testors and of course the person should just see that it is a mushroom not poisones mushroom. Maybe it should take effect right away. Maybe you just won't gain the normal 1% health every time you eat. Maybe you will lose 1% for every 10g of mushrooms you ate for a certain amount of time or something.

I understand that this is a lot of suggestions, but I would appreciate it if it weren't moved to the suggestion forum. I'm just suggesting some threats that are IRL.

I'm not so sure there are any true good guys in Cantr right now, as most well-known characters I know seem to have either a dubious past, or a secret agenda.

No one is black or white, just a different shade of grey.

If your character is the one who calls himself "nameless freak" then he deserves whatever's coming to him.
