ok i know most things we should and do learn in game but i think it might be allowable and helpful if we knew how to operate all the meters, some are obvious but not all.
Damage: (obvious, you get hit you get damage and you eat healing food)
Tiredness: (needs explaining, does it just accumulate until you do something to recover and what exactly do you need to do to recover? do you need a bed? if so many cantarians will die of sleep deprivation, or how does it effect us as well?)
Dirtyness: (ok i guess this hasta do with doing labour that would kick up a lot of dirt, farmng potatoes, digging for limestone ect... but exactly how do we wash off?)
Thirst: (ok we drink water i guess?)
Hunger: (this is new to me, now that it is seperate from the live meter exactly how are we affected by lack of food now?)
Drunkenness: (ok so cantr has booze, how o we recover? anything other than inventing coffee and going to bed?)

just things that should be standard character knowledge that, well, isn't. hope to find out more info lol thanks.

these should be one of thoes things that we learned in the 20 years of our lives (speaking in game wise, everyones chars are 20 when you start, so ya should have learned about the stuff before you turned 20)

I don't want to say all details about what effects what, but some general hints:

Dirtyness, thirst, and drunkenness are there, but have not been implemented yet. You won't see those meters move anytime soon, I think, but we'll work on it.

Hungryness works on the basis of how much 'daily food' you have. If you have enough, it won't change. So far, the only effect it has is that you die if the meter is full, but that is the only effect as of yet.

Damage takes over most of what used to be strength (except daily food).

Tiredness is affected by fighting and working on projects. It recovers a bit every day, automatically. I hope that sometime soon we'll be able to add other things to recover faster, e.g. furniture usage.

This is exciting and cool - 8)

But, I hope nobody tells us, it would be better to figure it out in the game.

I am sure a charachter or fifty will die, but I am sure that the programmers have not made it so that characters will fall over tommorrow from thirst or anything.

I wonder how tired and dirty we will all get before we figure out how to rest and bathe.

Social upheaval is always interesting to watch.

Now I am excited for one of my characters to take up brewing, distilling, and wine making!

I don't want to know details either. (Yes I'd like to know when the other things are working..) But I'd rather not know much about it out of character, like the other recent implementation. :)

Jos, no we kinda needed to know about some of this stuff, becuase what did we do for the frist 20 years of our lifes? really? did we sit around like homos, and do nothing?

Well, Now that we can become thirst, Are you going to add water to more places? I have one Character that is by water. So.. The others never even seen the stuff yet. Also were is this meter? I can't find it. Also Lonestar, Why do we need to know what happen the first 20 years of our life? I would be less worried about the past and be more worried about the present and future.

According to many people there are no twenty years, it only represents the state of physical development. Before spawning they were unmaterialized, non-existing creatures that in the moment of spawning received the skill of writing, reading, talking, walking and what not... Logical huh?

Also were is this meter? I can't find it.

You see it when you "get a description" of someone or of yourself. You can see more for yourself than other people of course though.

Jos, at least take off tiredness until we have a way of replenishing it. This is stupid, frankly. Talking to a long time player who I am failing at convincing not to quit. :(

Fatigue isn't completly unreplaceable, but I do partially agree with you, Nick, there should be a way to replenish it quicker, after all, beds, cots, etc are already in the game.

Is anybody else as leery of these changes as I am? Because they are just indicators of how much more there will be changed. I enjoy cantr because its a SIMPLE easy to play game that I have time for without obsessing over.

I didnt like how complicated the weapons became, making a bow is hell now for young starting charrys. Now the health system is changing. It bothers me tremendously that the game is becoming more and more complicated. I don't play complicated games, I play simple ones because I like to relax and enjoy the game. For me, cantr was a nice easy outlet and relaxing game that i could play while chatting via i.m. with friends. the changes being implimented and discussed will take much of that away.

I know you guys will continue making the changes, one voice saying "please don't" isnt going to make a difference when so many others are begging for more elaborate items and abilities in game. I realize that, i accept that, I just hope everyone isnt mad at me when I go away because I dont want to play a complicated game, and thats what it LOOKS like it is becomeing.

my 2 cents.

The change should be interesting. I'm hopeful. It also saved the live of one of my starving characters. :) Now he just has a lot of damage, but his hunger meter is empty.

Request: Could we get some values on the meters? Otherwise I'm gonna have to start counting pixels and that's just a pain.
