I was just wondering does any group names overlap, i'v recently seen that the Siom deputies are after a group called 'The Red Knights'. But I always thought of them being a group of good guys from Olip Forest. And I wasn't sure if Siom an Olip could be conected so how the 'bad' Red Knights came to get their name as the 'good' Red Knights have been about a long long time. Are there any other Stonecutters, or is there many places ruled by groups like that? I see most places are ruled by councils, are there many ruled by a single person? A king, or president?

There are Red Knights in Brunoi as well. I've noticed this too but the two groups are the total opposite of each other. The Clans of Olipifirovash Forest created the knights within there clan structure. The Red Knights that were around Siom was a gang that tried to overthrow Siom but failed and disappeared. There is also another group that calls themselves Red Knights in Brunoi but I don't know much about them.

There is also another group called the Silver Knights in Moku hat was created by one of my characters. They are devout followers of the Unnamed Ones and stuff.

I founded the Red Knights of Olip Forest, sort of annoying seeing groups of bandits being called the same thing because in game no one knows the difference as they have the same name. If the name was copied, it actually isn't an original name. It's the name of my local football team, Beragh Red Knights (An Bearach Craobh Rua)!

I actually believe that the Red Knights in Brunoi are the same ones that were in Siom because I know, not IC through Richard Lenseth but through Thomas Covenant, that one of the people working Ryan McConnell's government in Brunoi was Videl Ramos. She was the leader of the Red Knights in Siom. So, that explains why the disappearance of the Red Knights from Siom because they went to Brunoi.

I don't think the two different Red Knights are connected. Never did because they were the opposite of each other. Just something that happened. When were the Red Knights in Olipifirovash created? I can try to look at old notes and see which one was created first.

It's to be expected that you'd have two groups with similar names, especially with the "Red Knights" being such a totally badass name
Me? I got a char in the Olip RK, another char's knows someone in the Siom RK but he doesn't know, and two more living somewhat in fear of the Siom RK..if they all met at once, there'd be a nice amount of confusion going on ^^

The Red Knights of Olip Forest would have been made back in the 200's when the Clans of the forest where being established. At a guess, I would be wrong. Take a character that was 22 or 23 when he took over and is now 35. And thats how long it's been going on.
The Olip Red Knights would take kick Siom and Brunoi's fakes put together!

Yes, good thing the two are different islands.

At that, the Red Knights around Siom became known as of day 400 to Siom but they may have existed before, just in secret.

Perhaps I should have copy righted the name. lol.

What? So you can sue them? I don't think suing has been discovered yet in Cantr. And thank God for that.

Actually I buried a few of the Siom Red Knights, and told the Siom authorities, but I was ignored, so Siom is chasing a few ghosts as well as real people. Now that could turn into a legend, if only someone would pick it up IC and embellish the tale a bit *sigh*

A question to the Players Department (if any of you read this post);

As this situation has arisen with two groups coming to being in Cantr with the same name would you encourage one the groups from an OOC perspective to change there name or would you let it pass and see what hell breaks from there being two group with the same name?

There is no reason for us to encourage one group to change their name as long as each was created independently from one another.

even though it would seem that the later group drew their name from the original?

I take it this would be one of those dodgy grey areas where the capital rule is bent and tested?

I bleive the 2nd group took the name off the first, because I know the Original Red Knights (the ones in olip) are branching off, but I don't think they could have made it all the way to Siom.

I also have characters in Olip Forest, Brunoi, Quill, and Siom. And I was completely unaware until I read the note in Quill.
