Why does the Player's Department exist? Hmmm..o.O To give me somebody to bug when I'm all out of minutes, or just plain bored. *Blinks* Is that right? o_O Lmao!

If you receive an e-mail from the Player's Department, what action will you take? I'd respond to the e-mail...:)

What are the main responsibilities of the Player's Department? Well...when you don't know the answer you can always referr to the departments page. o.o
This department is responsible for managing the database of players on Cantr. Members are allowed to remove players upon request or unacceptable behaviour. Further duties will be assisting players that have questions about the game that cannot be put on the OOC mailinglist or when players have lost their password. The Tailor is responsible for handling requests for new cloth design. He can be reached by mailing tailor@cantr.net.

Do you feel that the Player's Department does a commendable job in fulfilling its responsibilities? Hmm I don't really know I'm not behind the scenes to look. But most every time I've had a question it's been answered. Most every time there has been a problem it has been solved. I'd say DEFFINATELY!

Do you feel comfortable communicating with the Player's Department? No.

Who is in the Player's Department? Umm o_o Cosmo...>.> lol. I think Genevieve too. Is it cheating to go and look?

What would you like to see change about the approach of the Player's Department? So far nothing I guess. I am happy to bug Cosmo any day. ^.~ and The last time I was ever talked to by players dept was in my first account with chars that were grouped in the same area. It was professional like, and I didn't see any need for changes in the way it was handled. :) Oh, now that I think about it, lets add Cathy to that list of people on the players dept. :)

Cosmo, you know I like you, but what are you talking about? "who's in the staff?" is a question. not to be mean, but who cares, and it shouldn't matter. Someone provides a game, we love it, I don't think it should get much deeper then that. It's common sense, we play a free game we love, we should be happy and have no complaints.

Do you feel that the Player's Department does a commendable job in fulfilling its responsibilities? Yeah why not

Do you feel comfortable communicating with the Player's Department?

It's not a who is in the staff question. It might look like one, though. ;)

If common sense was something that we could expect from every individual stumbling upon Cantr, then Cosmo wouldn't have asked the questions above. And the world would be a nicer place, too. ;)

<pointless babble>You'd be surprised how little common sense there is among people. Like an ounce for every thousand people. It gets frustrating, although I'm guessing you live in an area where there is a higher concentration, so it's not your fault for not noticing the suckitude of humanity.</pointless babble>

In summary:
GWAR SMASH FOOLISH HUMANS!

I am hoping for more responses. I would like to get a general feeling of the relationship players have with the Player's Department.

I've never had any problems with them, it seems that most of the problems come from players misinterpreting the reason that they are contacted, and the email they get. Why anyone would cancel their account just because they got an email from the players department is beyond me. But then I know everyone in players from other areas of the game.

Why does the Player's Department exist?
To follow-up on things that look odd.

If you receive an e-mail from the Player's Department, what action will you take?
Anger/Fear/Denail/Acceptance. Then I'd read it. :)

What are the main responsibilities of the Player's Department?
Level the playing field by guiding people to stick to some rules. It's very difficult to compete with someone running 100 non-sepeaking chracters all working towards the same goal. An invasions are no fun if the population in OOC ready for them.

Do you feel that the Player's Department does a commendable job in fulfilling its responsibilities?
Can't tell everything has to be so secretive. Seems like it I guess.

Do you feel comfortable communicating with the Player's Department?
No. Of course the same could be said about the police. It's not that I don't like them it's the who seriousness of what they're doing.

Who is in the Player's Department?
Besides Cos? dunno there's a list in the game under departments if you forgot who's on it with you. :P

What would you like to see change about the approach of the Player's Department?
Have no idea why people react so strongly. Start the e-mail with a joke maybe to lighten the mood a bit? "We have your place surrounded answer these questions and there will be no need for us to break down the door and take you by force". :P

-Players Dept= Cosmo, Kathy?, Rob I think, and Gwenny (I can't spell it).

-My experiences with the P.D.'s approach have all been fine. You guys don't bother us unless we're doing something wierd, and then you give us a non-accusatory, non-demanding, e-mail regarding the situation.

-When I get an e-mail from the P.D., I answer it, much to the distress of you guys, who've likely already had your quota of too-long responses for the day.

-I fell comfy with you guys. No complaints.

-Ummmmm, can't remember the other Q's. I'll look again.

Ok.....

-You guys exist to help ensure that everyone has a fair experience in the world of Cantr, and to try to help players avoid/fix possible negative effects of unnatural char behaviors. Uhhh, I'm not sure if that's what I meant, I didn't learn to communicate well in public school. :?

-I forgot the other Q's again.

Why does the Player's Department exist?

To let the game go the right way. Preventing cheating etc. (CR breaches, that stuff)

If you receive an e-mail from the Player's Department, what action will you take?

Read it like all emails. Than answer the questions (if any asked).

What are the main responsibilities of the Player's Department?
See Q one

Do you feel that the Player's Department does a commendable job in fulfilling its responsibilities?

Never, ever had anything with the PD, so I can't answer this question.

Do you feel comfortable communicating with the Player's Department?

See A above this one

Who is in the Player's Department?

Can you tell me? I dunno

What would you like to see change about the approach of the Player's Department?

Like said, I never had anything to do with the PD (police department :p , maybe CPD? Cantr Police Department ). I dunno what has to be changed... more interaction with the players ;).

Player's Dep.

Why does the Player's Department exist?

To deal with issures related to players. This ranges from issues the players go to the dep to get resolved to issues the dep has with players breaking rules.

If you receive an e-mail from the Player's Department, what action will you take?

What ever is necessary? I haven't gotten one yet, and don't think I will be.

What are the main responsibilities of the Player's Department?

To handle issues (see above) with players promptly and effectively.

Do you feel that the Player's Department does a commendable job in fulfilling its responsibilities?

It does and excellent job dealing with issues players bring up. I think it should stick it's nose out a bit more. As a player, I've seen plenty of "issues" that should have been adressed. I've even reported alot of them, and nothing has been done. I'm very happy with the recent changes. They are, as I see it, in the right direction.

Do you feel comfortable communicating with the Player's Department?

Completely.

Who is in the Player's Department?

The thing about not getting emails from them, and having an individual to ask about any problems is that you never really get to know who is in the P.D. as you never need to. I know Cosmo is, and I think Rob, Genevieve, and Jos are. There was one other, but I think they left. There may be more. Oh, maybe Thomas? Or maybe he's just programming.

What would you like to see change about the approach of the Player's Department?

Lie a bit more so your nose gets longer :-P
Maybe make an angrier auto-sent email to Capital rule breaches.
Definitely monitor more closely (of course, this is actually what I meant with the nose thing.)
