I like to make a timeline of what the history was in cantr. If I dont know the "storyline", I'd be quite happy resetting the story in Cantr 2.0, like I am now.....
What happened in
In K- Island
in KDS
in Cantr City Island?
All I know is :
- there was a lad empire whose army was destroyed by dourden.
- Some map guy named K- island Noniwrowk, but I dont like that name
- there are mac gregors in KDS
- once upon of time Iron could be mined using the method "Alluvial mining" (taking it off the surface), but people made the iron ran out, so now they have to get the rusty iron in the rocks (hematite).
- Lad empire still stands
- Siom/karnon forest is biggest city in the cantr world.
Thats not much, so please add to it

I love finding out about the game history, but there's the question of should this be done in game or not?
I tend to lean towards in game, which is a shame as it's harder to find out, except for perhaps stuff so old no one remembers it in game (I'm thinking pre 300 here)

I am thinking if its say more than 200 days ago, it would be ok.....

I think it can be a bit dangerous to write down a whole specific history OOC...and it would almost be impossible too. I think people who played key figures in Krif would have a very different perspective on history compared to key figures in Seatown Forest for example.

I'm very new to Cantr, and already getting addicted. And because it has such a lot of history the idea of researching it is fascinating.
But it seems to me like a definite in-game topic. Characters have obviously documented all sorts of things that went on, from different points of view. It seems as if Notes last for ever, or at least a long time. So there is scope for a lot of primary sources, and later compilations, etc. And, very likely, malicious editing and propaganda for political purposes. Everything that goes on in Earth history.
I can see how tempting, and interesting, historical OOC discussion would be. In fact there is a good thread here about the "Good old days" which I enjoyed. But I think It would spoil it not to leave as much as possible in the game.
And one other thing - how far back do the memories of the oldest Cantrians go? On another thread recently Jos gave these figures for the age breakdown of characters:
20 - 29: 70.4 %
30 - 39: 18.2 %
40 - 49: 8.4 %
50 - 59: 2.4 %
60 - 69: 0.4 %
Are character ages in years or really in days? I understand there are 20 days in a year. But that would mean a 65 year old had seen 900 days pass since spawning at the age of 20, and could remember right back to year 80 or so. Or are characters ages in days? Then the oldest people can't remember before about 910 right now.

In most places it shouldn't be hard to drag up history IC, the only hard places to do that would be where all the older chars have died, but I can't think of anyplace where that's happened to the extent that the history couldn't be uncovered. Even if that has happened, the history can be peiced together from old notes laying around.

Years. Remembering back to day 80 or so. But that's very few characters, and most of them probably (a) didn't see all that much and (b) didn't keep notes.
Surely you didn't think that most characters died in less than 10 days?

My most recent batch of characters just had a bunch turn 40. If I had some of my first characters, they'd be able to remember the early 200s.
Still, 40's a new record for me. Woot.
I could give a complete history of Karnon Forest, but I won't.

Well, I'm willing to bet the Cantr City land was created first, then the neighboring KDS landmass, after that, maybe K isle, or the 5 city isle. Recently the Aki places.
It's all speculation, but I think it's a pretty good guess.
Not that it matters to history, just someplaces didn't exist back on 80 and such.

if by 5-city isle you mean Dhung area, that was created in--i believe--the early portions of the game..maybe day 100 or so. Other than that, you're right.
K-island is just over 20 years old, Aki just over 15ish.

really, all it used to be was KDS, Cantr Island, and Shring Sri Island. When I started playing in either the late 200s or late 300s (more likely to be late 200's I think) it was only those islands in the English areas. In comparison K Island and Aki are extremely new.
I don't know about non-english areas, maybe their development was different.

I've only very recently learned of the Shring Sri island. Haven't actually been to it or to the Aki region myself. Like I said, I was gussing.

I have a character that can give a historical account of Sring-Sri Island from the beginnings until present, one that can speak on Cantr City/Alenz Hills/Lad History, and one that knows of the History if the Clans of Olipifirovash.
All this and more can be learned by asking in the game or visiting your local library.

There aren't many written histories in most places. And when you ask, people very, very often don't answer.
Still, learning IC is much better than here, for many reasons.
