What sort of underhanded things have your chars done?

Postby Lumera » Thu Oct 21, 2004 7:29 pm

I don't mean running around killing random people, I mean sneaky things. A clever theft, an elaborate scam, a good old fashioned murder plot, etc.

It just seems to me that people in Cantr are very gullible. I've seen several opportunites for easy thefts, but my characters have all been too honest to take advantage of them.

Of course, with my newest one this may change. But she's not dishonest, just very opportunistic. :)

I've never had a shot at a theft worth the trouble to get it. Not the sneaky kind anyway. Just lousy aim on the part of my amoral character...infiltrating an organization that hardly has any more resources than she does.

Ooh, wait, there was one that was kind of sneaky...but I don't want to talk about it yet.

My character Kattie Hoggs with the help of another man killed almost everyone on the entire Sring Sri island.

Quite a few... But if I share them then it defeats the point. Especially since some of those folk are still in the dark.

My oldest, and only real crazy guy, has killed dozens of people, but he's also gotten many people to unknowingly help him, only two of which I'll I'll explain: He talked two "harbour builders" into constructing a harbour at his hideout, unfortunatly, he had to abandon that base before it could be completed. And on his first trip through Reniov forest he befriended the sheriff and others who helped him build his first boat, then he died when I decided (for about a week) to quiet Cantr last year, that was right before the time warp and due to the time warp I lost my new account and ended up with my old one again. Upon arriving at the forest for a second time, no one was as willing to help him for some reason  , I'm sure it didn't have anything to do with the notes found on his dead body before the time warp

That Sring-Sri Incident really pissed me off. I went camping that week-end and I had 2 characters on the island. The one had a boat and could have easily escaped the attack, but of course the lock was broken and Katie just so happened to be in the boat when I quickly undocked. I was so angry partially because my other character Patrice Stourge tried to break a lock on a boat for an entire year unsuccesfully and you guys do it in 1 day.

I don't know anything about that incident other than what I've heard on the forums, but I don't think it really applies to the topic of this thread. Sounds more like a mindless killing spree than anything, unless there are some details I'm missing out on...

That''s basicly what it was. Maybe 4 people had steel weapons and iron shields ont hat island considering that Dhung was basicly restricting anyone from getting iron, I think the need for wiping out the islands population was completely unneccesary as the way that the combat system worked a person with a sabre could take on the entire island.

My characters have never done anything wrong.

I won't say much, but a good deal of the confusion on K-Island right now is due in part to one of my lesser-known characters.

I have 2. One is a pirate masqurading as a trader, and the other is manipulating his way into a fortune.

I have a couple.
One passes as a trader some places, then pulls off a raid at other places. I must say he's nearly made a full circle around the continent, which is important to him.
The other hasn't done much underhanded stuff, though he will. He just manages to, eh, execute people fairly easy. He's not a bad guy, though.

I have one who I will not disclose who is becoming a very good pirate and theif through subdifuge and cunning. I also have a crooked trader who fixes goods prices to give himself(or herself) an unfair advantage. (lets say hidden tools and resources).

I have one character that stole about 1000 iron, 2000 hematite, a sledge hammer and a stone hammer. he worked for a local iron factory.. watching over and paying the workers... when he told the workers he was sent to another town on buissiness... then told his boss he wasnt going to be in to give him hematite for a few days.. then left

has been a couple years so far, but everyone he runs into from the town he stole from still thinks he is away on bussiness

he didnt steal much, but he got away with it
