Pardon my ignorance but what exactly did they do in Kwor? I wrote my previous comment on the real TBR not knowing this... Hmmm. That makes things interesting!

I hate it when you find some juicy bits on the board. My char hasn't got a clue.

A possible future power in the S-D-N region is the Rangers.
They have developed from an aid to the governments to seeing themselves as some kind of power of their own, often with authority over the governments.
They should have a lot of able fighters and equipment, so if they decided to form a power of their own (which some fear) they could be a big threat to the region.

I would say that the near-universal high level of armament among the older people in that area would get the Rangers cut down pretty quick, unless the elders refused to fight them.

I didn't mean them taking on the entire region at once.
Many of the town relies much on the Rangers for defence, so I think they would be able to seize a territory by some clever scheme and then hold on to it.

Kwor got attacked by a pair of pirates, they returned a few times. I don't think they were members of TBR...

There was another small attack, by a lone person... Now things are beginnning to change in Kwor... But that'd break the 4 day rule

Well, at least Anderton Cale and Gary Drenth...I would suspect.
There are many good Rangers too though, that would chose the good side, Krif

I think anderton would side with krif taking along with him one or two of the best rangers.

My opinion on the Rangers is that they're not an effective fighting force, at this time. They're spread out too far, and too thin to pose any combined force. Now if they concentrated their resources, then yes, they'd be very useful. Also, the Rangers depend on the force multiplier of friends and good semeritins (sp?) a lot of the time.

As for the loyalties of the Rangers, that is questionable. Even if as Brandon hinted, just three or so Rangers (i.e. Anderton, Louis O, etc) decided to create a new faction, it'd be a large fraction of the total Rangers Corps. Of course that's just hypothetically. I think it's more useful for a Guardian Ranger to have good regional friends and contacts, more so than having more Deputies under his influence.

As I pointed out earlier, and it was restated, yeah, quite a few Rangers are prone to their loyalties to old friends. *coughs* Gary and Cale to the MacGees-easily noticable during the potential Krif-D-S/MacG conflict.
