Okay, now you've got me riled. Go read the thread about "annoying rp" or something like that. You discourage whispers, and you'll have an uproar from players who don't want to hear all that garbage, don't want to have to read reams of stuff to get to important things, don't want drama or life to enter into their chars lives.

If we disallow whispers..........okay, I don't know why I'm even replying to this. I am obvioulsy very tired. This is Cantr, and if you don't like the way it's played, perhaps you need to try another game. As for rp'ing sex, it is a natural progression in many relationships, and like it or not, for many players developing relationships in the game is as important, if not more so, than massacring towns, taking over governments, or amassing hordes of wealth. For those who choose to partake, I see no problem with it. Creepy? I don't think so, unless it's rp'd that way. And it won't cause you to go blind, either. Believe it or not, intimacy and sex are far more natural and acceptable than slaughtering people for fun. I have no problem with those who choose not to rp this sort of thing, but I'm getting sick of the snide comments that seem to be trying to make those that do feel bad about it. Sex is not a sin.

If anyone has a concern that someone is underage, email the players dept, or pm a PD member, and ask.

Although that may be true in our home life, we still would not "do it " in front of children. Which would be my only real "concern" with Cantr RP sex. Is there a garauntee that the person you speak with is not a minor?

You certainly got a point. But if a "child" is mature enough to initiate roleplay a sexual connection without the other person noticing that they are young they have obviously enough information about the subject allready to not take harm from it.
I can't imagine that a 12 y/o could RP as good as that...but someone in their early teens could. But in that age it is pretty much time for them to get curious about stuff like this and I don't consider it harmful to them.
If they RP sexual contacts on an internet based game you can be pretty sure that they have seen dirtier things on the web allready...

I agree that larger expressions and similar things should be RPd openly. Having sex in the middle of a busy town or whispering that you scream to someone isn't very good RPing...

That's how I am for the first 6 months or so of being with someone, but then the "newness" wears off and I again realize that there are more important things to be doing. But it also depends on what you call alot. First 6 months my average is about 7-8 times a week, after that about 3 times a week is good enough.

Hahaha... the day my private asterisks are broadcasted is the day I'll have to quit. That'd be way to much information for the masses.

Although alot of these points are plausable, RP of cantr sex is up to the individuals who are actively doing so. I agree that young teens are curious, and they have probably seen ALOT of stuff on-line, I still choose to keep my relationships as intimate behavior that is not extremely gaphic, as it takes away from the imagination. This game is text based so the imagination is the basis of it. It can be suggestive, touchy-feely but not extremely discriptive, if I wanted to play with porn, there are several other places to do so without placing Cantr into that catagory. Intimate relationships between 2 charr. must be kept in the whisper stage. I do not care what others do, that is thier choice, I just know what my personal choices are in the matter, and I choose to stay with it....everyone has thier right to choose. If someone I play with becomes to graphic, I will let them know...again my choice. Intamacy between charrs. is a necessity to developing a relationship, but dirty graphic discriptions are not in my opinon. Everyone has a choice.

Personally, I've not engaged in this behavior, but I'm not opposed to it either. Still, with only 200 minutes per day and 15 chars, it's not a terribly realistic thing for most of us. On those rare occasions that I like to engage in any sort of...questionable activity, I prefer to take my time and get it right. Cantr doesn't really allow for that given the current system.

Perhaps someday when I have an abundance of free minutes and a char into that, but not right now.

Dave, might I point out that conversations usually take several days themselves. A sexual encounter, be it one long heated kiss, or rabbits going at it, might take several days itself, or longer, to finish. You'd not get it done in one day, unless you have both parties online wasting their minutes to post to one another.

I only participate if it is near minute refresh time or bedtime and I can afford the minutes. Call it a CR breach for acting because of OOC reasons, , but If I am in a battle/invasion or something else that requires a lot of minutes I will most likely remain abstinent for that day.

That's soo romantic, Nick. lol. I think the new guy wins with the best answer.

Heh, by the looks of the poll, theres twice as many people who do/want to do this stuff in the game than those who don't. I wonder if that means more babies when babies are programmed...
