Favorite Character Names - not just yours but anybody's

It seems there are lots of creative and fun names in the game. Not just ones you have made for your own, but characters you may have run accross. Name your favorites.

Here is one of the ones I got a chuckle from:

I know I'm probably incredibly boring, but I don't like those wacky names...or people playing unseriously in general.

I can give credit for creativity, but I don't want that kind of creativity in Cantr...

I'm with Pirog. I really don't like cantr names that serve OOC purposes, either as jokes or as stupid RL references.

The only way I'd approve of a joke name is if it was an IC joke. That could possibly be interesting.

I like imaginative names that still sound like names. A lot of current-day names just don't seem right.

I'm with this crowd too. I've already tried getting these type of names banned, and have them counted as a CR breach, but it didn't work out >.>

Usually when I see someone named the way that has a double meaning it just makes me wonder. For example that urgay imnot which I have said at least once before, it might be a good name when you pronounce it differently but the way it's meant to really bugs me off. I saw him with two of my charries and unfortunately he said both times something like "my name is urgay imnot". Now if he had just blurted out the name there would have been a great chance for a misunderstandment and punching the fellow. I know I'm prejudiced but one must be damn openminded to respect someone with a name like that, and typing all lowercase surely doesn't help.

But since this is supposed to be about the good ones, not the hated ones... Hmm. I like ones that are not so common, not too long, somehow express the gender of the carrier - it doesn't have to be a real name but female names tend to be softer. Nowadays I write f/m in the end of the name if the gender's hard to remember, after happily mistaking Kursten or Tircqi for a guy. Best way is to have another one of the names uncommon or random, the other more common. Oh great, now I'm writing an essay here, cut it, cut eet...
I like the contrast of lenght in names, for example John Woodhouse though being a damn common name, has a nice knack with a short first name and long last name. The names mostly seen, John, Hanna(h), Mary, Dan, Harry and others like that, they definately need a last name that stands out from the mass. If a name is a weird one, people are more likely to use it, for example most everyone calls my Gahak just Gahak though he likes "Mr Jordan" more though that's far too common a name. People with multiple names stand out from the mass, Maude Louise Bibbs O for example. (Though just one letter for a last name is lame, "Louis". I'm quite sure I saw the original longer name in some post, you must have just burned the evidence.)
And then of course the carriers affect how you sense the names, if the character is a total bastard you'll probably hate the name no matter how beautiful it is, or the other way around.

I dont like weird names like that either... I have some weird ones but they mean nothing else.. like Toetia... it annoys me sometimes to see names with ooc meaning that has nothing to do with cantr..

I like names like Redfish Jones - ones that mix the everyday with the surreal.

I enjoy unique names, and make pleanty of them myself. If you know my characters, you'll probably wonder "What drugs was he on when he thought that?". Some examples: "Atate Writter", "Eechii Omnisheek", "Siskins". There's only two characters of mine that have OOC references. One is my real name (But not 'Anthony', instead, a nickname), and the other is the name of an actor, that plays a mafia character in a movie named Anthony (Guess who!) - They're small things.

At least I'm not... Adolf Dumboldore and building 'Hogwarts' in the game to teach, you guessed it, Witchcraft and Wizardary. That made me furious... can't people... be original?!

I have a few discworldy characters with some of the characters personality (but not much). Along with a few based on people I know/like, and others are random names created by asking lots of people then putting them into a hat.

I get a lot of the names I use, or have used from The Elder Scrolls 3 series. A lot of creativity in those names.
