If Cantr were a junior high school...

Postby SekoETC » Mon Aug 16, 2004 9:22 am

I have been pondering this thing for a while, so lets play a little imaginative game. If Cantr was a junior high school, what role would your characters play there? There are three grade levels and since they counting seems to be different in every school, I didn't bother to think if it's actually grade six or what they start, so I just call it first grade. If you think your character is more like a teacher or a cafeteria worker than a student, that's alright.

Seko - First grade. A poor little fellow, has flunked several grades. Is in the special education group. He wears velcro sneakers since tying shoe laces would take a bit too much time and effort. Has the habit of calling his teacher "mommy". Smiles a lot and makes others smile too.

Dove - Second grade. A wannabe little goth, doing depression pills and cutting herself. She follows some older students like a shadow. Sometimes she has fits and scares people. Can be found in drama class, crying in the bathroom or in the school shirk's office.

Gahak - Second grade. An annoying bully who pesters the ones he doesn't like, and that's about everyone. Everybody hates him and sometimes the bad guys beat him just to make sure to the others that they have nothing to do with the son of a bitch... Gahak applied for class president first year but got zero votes and has been bitter ever since. He's a bit... oh wait, terribly snobbish since his parents are rich. :P

Hannah - Second grade. She's a part of the popular bunch that spends most their time chatting about make-up and boys. More interested in shopping and dating than school, but survives the exams with medioicre scores.

Jaina - Third grade. She's into sports a lot, but studying doesn't seem to interest her too much, so she has passed every grade just barely. Mostly she hangs out with guys, but they are just friends for her, nothing more. Girls tend to avoid her because she talks a bit too daringly sometimes.

Maline - Third grade. Being a silent individual, she enjoys the company of teachers more than her classmates. The ones to know her consider her quite nice, but for some reason she doesn't let people too close. Can be found in the art class, where else? Her clothes are different from the mass but are not too garish. She either buys them from the second-hand stores or makes some from the scratch.

Jonas - Third grade. He's very polite and most people can't help enjoying his company, though there are those nasty people that say that he's gay, but he hasn't responded to the rumors. He designs his own clothes and many think he might even become a professional.

The flag on the yard was once half-mast for first year student Maryan, who died mysteriously in a car crash. No one knows how she ended up in the stolen vehicle, she was ever such a good girl, studious and engaged in arranging almost every school event. Before found in the class committee meeting, now found in the cematary.

You continue from here.

Alyssa Heart> Third grade. Allready an independant and strong willed young woman, who rather keeps to herself than hang out with her immature class mates. She is adored by the schools outsiders and hated by the popular girls, since they can't control her. She spends a lot of time outside smoking cigarettes openly, since she just doesn't care.

Tyrone> Third grade. One of the schools top athletes, going all up in his basketball game. His grades aren't very impressive, but he goes for a scholarship to get into college. He doesn't have time to focus on girls, since it interferes with his game.

Belle Charms> Second grade. A giggly and bouncy girl that bends herself double in her efforts to please everyone. Her strongly religious parents keeps her under strict control and buys her clothes. She is the one who always have a helping hand or a kind word for the sad classmates.
Her grades are all A's.

Terry Local> Third grade. Terry has always wanted to be a journalist, and he would probably be great...if he ever got anything done. His plans of becoming a top journalist takes up so much time that he often flunks the courses he needs to take to learn how to write well. He has a winning personality though, and manages to convince his classmates that he will succeed.

Alexander> Alexander is the religion teacher of the school. His faith never falters and he scares the hell out of his students by warning them off the burning flames of hell if they don't live by the bible. He is a good man though, as he just tries to teach them how to live according to gods wish.

Silverfoot> The rugged but kind hearted janitor, that breaks up fights in the corridors and makes sure the bullies doesn't get toal control over the school. She doesn't mind her lack of career as long as she can do some good in her work.

Palemon> Third grade. Palemon is the kid with the resources. You want cigarettes, beer or a dirty magazine...talk to Palemon. He just barely makes his grades, but he has no plans on a legitimate career anyway so what does he care. He is a charming scoundrel though, and many nice girls have ruined their reputation with him.

Michael Tennek> Third grade. Michael got a steady girlfriend since a year back and they only have eyes for each other. He used to get top grades, but they have gone down since his plans of a great career as a lawyer is exchanged for a quiet life in a nice suburb with his future wife.
Few people will remember him after their graduation, since he didn't really have time to make any friends.

Dugall> Second grade. Dugall is the extreme outsider of the school. The whole world is always against him, and he spends more time torturing animals in the nearby forest than attending the classes. He sometimes hooks up with Paleom to get cigarettes and dirty mags, and Palemon never asks where he got his money from. His unwashed and tangled hair, the dirt stains on his skin and clothes and the many bruises has got some of the teachers to worry about his social situation.

Lance> Third grade. Mr charming. The popular crowd of girls all dream about being his girlfriend, and in their aim to make the dream come true many good friendships are shattered. His dashing smile and the way he seems to top his grades and excel in sports without even trying has won him the respect of many and the hateful jealosy of even more.

Odur> Third grade. His strange dialect, his weird clothing and hair style could have put him at the top of the list of bully victims, but the few that tried learned that this kid is not to be picked on. His father, the butcher, has made it clear to him that Odur will follow in his foot steps, so he doesn't really care much about getting good grades. He is mortally in love with a girl in the second grade, but he is much to shy to say it to anyone.

Teliah> Second grade. Teliah is one of the popular girls that have started smoking and dressing provocative, but under he tough image she is a kind, confused girl that just wants to be loved. Although she has had sex with a couple of third graders she is in love with a girl in her class...but she doesn't dare to say anything about it to anyone.

Ragnar> First grade. Ragnar isn't the most clever kid, and his thin body doesn't make it easy for him. His older sister in the third grade takes care of him though, sheltering him from the bullies. He is very scared of what will happen next year when his sister graduates.

Hildra> Second grade. A tough girl that has always enjoyed the company of boys more than girls. She could have excelled in school if she wanted to, but she finds it more interesting to develop her social skills on the school yard. Other girls fear her, and many boys have fallen in love with her, since she is such a strong individual, something she isn't late to use to her advantage. Next year she will rule the school!

Obekant> First grade. This kid is just strange. He doesn't have any friends, he never talks and even the teacher have problems learning his name. He seems to have a natural abillity to blend into the background and have heard a lot of school secrets simply because no one takes any notice of him. He is in love with a girl in second grade that finds it a bit creepy that the young kid is always staring at her.

Awh, poor Odur. Is he really not to be messed with? He didn't show it that much. And what about him backing out? Backing out would show that he hasn't much faith in himself nor his "freinds", maybe he can be trusted, but he can't trust anyone else, well probaly apart from his girly. And Kwinnsten (OF COURSE!!).

Poster Bob>

Odur in his twenties would have challenged Hans to a duel to the death and he wouldn't have accepted a no from him. So when high school Odur gets a few years older and hook up with the girl he has loved so long he will calm down there too ;)

And I don't see it as he backed out...he actually still offered Hans to fight it out, but Hans didn't respond to it.

Haha, no...it just came naturally I guess :)
Yeah, Obekant is a strange little guy, isn't he?

I liked your idea...it was fun thinking of them in such a context.

Come on people, don't let Pirog and me be the only ones... Reading those descriptions was funny and I was really disapointed this morning when I saw there were no new ones added. It shouldn't be hard.

I'm only doing two characters, because I'm like that.

Lenore Raven - Third grade, the completly isolated goth, who spends most of her time reading victorian books and scribbling in her book.

One Sun Mirror - The oriental chem teacher who makes coffee in the beakers using the busen burner, currently toasting a bun.

I'll give a couple... seeing as you know about a few of mine anyways... dunno if you know about these ones, though:

Barran Diarmon: 3rd grade. Likes to think he's in control of everything around him at times(well.... he is commanding the Cantr City guard...), but when he sees his sweetheart, he melts.

Delia Everwood: 2nd grade. Her moodiness about her lost fiancee is what's holding her back from advancing any farther. Many friends around, respectful, but usually quiet, unless she feels an absolute need to speak.

Lören Darksbaine: 3rd grade. Insensitive at times, but what can you expect from someone who's been rogue for 8 years, not picking a home or a "real" occupation? He's settled, and is learning more about himself by the day.

Chris Rockford: 1st grade. He's 27, but he's still learning the basics about everything. Nobody picks on him, because nobody notices him. Otherwise, he'd be the victim of quite a bit of bullying... (at least in my opinion)
you think you know me... but really, i don't know myself

Not very good at this, but I'll do a few.

Steve Nash- 3rd Grade- Very intelligent. Has a few friends, but likes to focus his time on work.
Jay Bilas- 3rd Grade- Never thinks about relationships with women, he has alot of friends, though. He loves doing extra projects to help someone.
Velfred Blackrock- 2nd Grade- He's very athletic, and loves flirting. Not very often is he completely serious. He could have advanced if he tried, but he'd rather have fun.
Dirk Janakowsky- 3rd Grade- Is a very dedicated worker, and attempts to get along with everyone. Has managed to get into a few fights, though.
Uriel Septim- 2nd Grade- Spends more time joking then focusing on school. He's lucky he advanced to 2nd grade.
Jimmy Fallon- 3rd Grade- Class Bully. Loves to push people around, and is very intelligent. Does have some soft spots, though.
Tim Mac Gregor- 3rd Grade- Very dedicated worker, and is the "alpha male" in his group of friends. Loves women. If his friends or family was threatened, he wouldn't hesitate to fight.
Rashad McCants- 2nd Grade- Works hard, but sometimes doesn't try hard enough. He's one of the smaller guys, but is pretty strong.
Lafe Nash- 3rd Grade- Loyal to those who have helped him. He doesn't have many friends, since he is so quiet, but has a bit of fiestyness (is that a word?) in him.
My other character- 2nd Grade- Still learning the ropes of life, and loves to joke around. He hopes to make a career of it in the future. So far, has only worked to benefit himself. He'll do dumb things just to make someone laugh, or get a bit of attention.

LOL great, I think that's the best this far.

I'd like people to keep in mind that being a student, you're something like 13 to 16 years old (though older if you have flunked). You might be workin' after school if you want some dough, bagging groceries, selling drugs, what ever suits you... but mostly you're just whining your parents for money. Pa-rents. You know, the.. whaddaya call them in Cantrish?

Boss, who treats you as an extension of themselves and equips you to match. The fun part is when you teach them their error...Kind of like IRL, actually...

Anthony Karratic - Grade Two. No real intelligence, but can easily pass as an intelligent person. He liked staring at the girl in the ground row, though, because she has nice titties.

Tony Roberts - A Grade Three Teacher. He's too damn smart for his own good, in some subjects, but flunking at a grade one level for others. You can usually find him within the Teachers Lounge, watching Sunday Night Football, and smacking the other teachers hands when they try to steal his box of 12 donuts.

Adam Mint - Grade One. Just your basic grunting child that doesn't understand things and gets bullied around by those superiour than him. However, from all the bullying, he's started to become a bully himself.

Philip Boka - Not currently attending school. This poor soul should have gone to school, but was forgotten about. His intelligence is so poor, he needs to ask others. And because he's so unintelligent, he doesn't realise when he hurts someones feelings, or what larger words can represent. His memory is also extremely poor. However, he's still very lucky with those girls whom are sympathetic to his cause.

Cleo (LaFleur) Darksbaine: The school librarian. Spends most of her time inside, quietly working. Enjoys silence, although she will yell and throw a fit from time to time. She can be sarcastic, but only when her students mix up her neat stack of books. She may seem quiet, but underneath her trim business suit, glasses, and tight bun she wears thigh highs and a black lace bustier. Reserved only for her husband, of course.

Franchesca DeMornay: Perhaps she should be called Mrs. Robinson. She is the High School sex-ed teacher that is more than willing to give her students a hand on demonstration.....I’m going to stop there.

Heather Scarletti: The second grade sweetheart that every boy has a crush on and every girl wants to crush. She can be bully, but only when her friends are threatened. Loyalty is her most flattering feature.

Pennilyn (Young) Mac Gregor: The freshman who has a major crush on the senior class president. She’ll gladly spend her days with him, but knows that someday he is going to break her heart. She quiet, but as she gets older and finishes school she will definitely be a confident self sufficient woman of means.

Roxanne Harlow: Junior high drop out. Always thought she was too smart to conform with society or any type of social situation. As a small child she enjoyed tearing the wings off of small insects. She is now hitch-hiking across the country looking for her next man to kill.

And that's all I can think of for now.
When people tell me that great minds think alike, all I can do is look at them and think "oh you dirty, dirty bastard"

I think I might come back later...
