I said this in a jokingly way in another thread, but then got thinking it might be fun or atleast something to do. Think of a few categorys, have a few nominees and then give an OCC award to the character therefore not actually effiecting the character but they still get recognition. I'll start a few now.

Most Popular Character -
Lest Popular Character -
Most Infulencial Current Character -
Most Infulencial Character of All Time-
Most Hated Character -

So whose got their nominations?

may I add a couple of catergories:

Most powerful character
Most powerful character of all time

you can have influence, but not power, and vice versa, althought power can be influential.

How about:

most travelled character
most dedicated community worker (person who has contributed most to any particular group, which is in a way the spirit of the game as the game is all about groups etc)

Most inventive/cutural reveloutionary char (one with best ideas for towns and systems etc)

Most well known IC character (who is the most well known as spread by IC means)

I could go on and on....

I don't like the idea...stuff like this tends to make some people competitive, and suddenly someone with an influental character starts slaughtering people because he wants to be the most hated and so on.

The focus of the games shouldn't be ending up on the "High Score List"...

I like the idea, I think it would encourage people to improve their RPing. You shouldn't be able to vote for any of your own chars though.

sorry, but I find that sad in the extreme, that someone would do that, also it would be incredible out of character, unless you're playing a person who randomly slaughter's people.

I think the awards are more like a way of recognising success in the game, rather than something to aim for. There's no benifet from "getting" an award.

I have to disagree. I think when you add such a list, it further promotes the mine, mine, mine theme. I have come to see as the over ruling flaw of this game. There shouldn't be any goal here except self gradifaction for what you do and how you do it. The whole RPG if you just played your characters as real people care for them and stop the oppressive bullsh*t

What do you mean by oppressive bullshit?

If you feel that someone is violating the Capital Rule, then rather send us a mail to gac@cantr.net or players@cantr.net than swearing on this forum.

methinks he/she had a rough start, spawned a first few chars in some oppressive places that aren't very forgiving on new chars

I say hooray for the oppresive places...the world isn't goody, goody, thoughout and Cantr would be extremly boring if every place was like Siom.

Siom is edging towards oppressive, slowly, but it's getting there

Ok, are we just going to keep debating this, or get on with some nominations? 8)

Armedian Koloff for the person who travels the most. This guy's map is amazing and it's updated all the time.
