I Sleep Because...

Let's admit you have those sleepyheads too and tell the reasons. Shame...Shame...
I sleep because I'm old and jaded. I'm ashamed to die.
I sleep because my town is mostly silent, though I'm reactive if I'm spoken to.
I sleep because I need to meditate inside silently.
I sleep because I couldn't find my personality and it's not likely to happen.

My characters sleep because I'm very busy IRL right now.

I sleep because I missed my first opportunity to establish myself and I'm not sure what to do now.
I sleep because the town got to busy to keep up with and I don't know if I introduced myself to these new people or if I haven't and it would be awkward to wake up now.
I sleep because I can get away with it since I have no responsibilities.
I sleep because my player picks favorites and I'm not one of them.
We all sleep because our player hit the spawn button too many times.

I sleep because I am old and decrepit, and who wants to listen to the musings of an old hag like me.
I sleep because my player struggles with the language. ×2
I sleep because I sleep.

I sleep because travelling is talking a long time, and potatoes are easy to gather for a year.
I sleep so she wont keep flirting with me...
I sleep, because I'm sleepy, but wake up every so often, alone, in this wilderness, to repeat some more cooking.
The rest are less sleepy, so won't post here.

I sleep because I have nothing to talk about and enough projects set up to last ten years.

This topic is really depressing. Especially people who check their characters but have no reason to say anything because there's nothing that deserves a reaction.

Actually this also shows a possible road towards making the game more interesting: by creating recurring in-game incentives for verbal interaction (should be useful/interesting/beneficial, but not too often, don't overdo this) players will be more regularly actively involved in playing, even if it's just a simple 'hi' or 'no'.
Just a thought, i haven't thought about which incentives those could be.

I think interactions should be more meaningful than just saying good morning or introducing yourself to newspawns. It would be great if people showed something about their personality when a newspawn appears. If you're going to ignore the newspawn, do it actively and show that your character thinks their own business is more important than young people. Some might call you an asshole but the player will know that you have acknowledge their presence.

Yes! This, this right here!
At least an active ignore is interesting, I would certainly prefer it to a daily "hello" and then nothing else.....

I don't think it's that depressing, but then again I have half my characters in a semi sleeping state right now so I'm projecting my reasoning onto other players. For me, real life got busy. Even when I have the time to play I have very little mental and creative energy left to put into it. So instead of robo responding or Mary Sueing a dozen characters, I've put my efforts into the 3-4 that are making the game more interesting for other players right now and let the rest of them take a pleasant nap.I was expecting my work schedule to lighten up as I was creating most of them, and instead it jumped into multiple 12+hour workdays every week with occasional 6 day workweeks. I had my first sub 50 hour week since June last week and this upcoming week looks like it should be there too. So I'm considering waking up more of my characters in the next few weeks, but after that my company is going through some major transitions and the last 2 weeks of October and all of November could be really time consuming and stressful, (although I tend to learn new things easily and from what I can tell so far my job will get easier in the new system, but those kind of assumptions can lead to a lot of disappointment)
I figure it's better to leave them sleeping for a time then to kill them off, although I'm still strongly considering culling my herd down to 6-8 so I can have fewer better characters.
