Wait are we allowed to add such things to the wiki? I also think this would be a cool feature!

I wish it was real. Cantr needs PvE to make up for limited PvP.

If this really is active, I make a challenge for those who manage to kill one of them. The Players Department can check the result.

I will remain silent on this temporarily.

Does that count as silence?

Edit: I edit my commitment to remain silent on this.

A friend told me 10 Krakens attacked his boat all at once, and his character fought them all off. He said one literally flew over his ship and he gutted it with his sword mid-air. Another; he jumped on it's back and stabbed it through the brain.

Apparently one of them dropped a treasure chest full of gold and cow dung.

I heard this was an April Fool's joke a long time ago.

Perhaps I should document the answer here:
Spoiler alert

EchoMan wrote:We introduced this new feature into the game. When you get close enough you will be able to attack it with ranged weapons (spear, bow, crossbow). The Kraken can damage, and even sink, the ship if it isn't killed first. There is also a chance it will flee when it has taken enough damage. If you kill it it will drop lots of raw calamare.

I like what someone did there, but calamari is spelled wrong.

Haha, I had completely forgot about that. Was some joke in the IRC about sea monsters attacking ships, so I whipped up that article and showed it as proof in the chat. :D

It should probably get a little bit of disclaimer when things are back online.

Tincho set up a little prank, and I helped.

Haha, for a moment I started believing it was true.

I'm not disappointed it's revealed. It had to be revealed eventually, and with EchoMan leaving, it was perfect timing :)

Yeah, it was 6 years ago after all. Also this doesn't mean that the joke can't continue. Soon enough this thread will be forgotten about, and who knows, one day the kraken could appear.

I'd like to have more surprising elements in the game environment. They would help in initiating interesting roleplay.

Long ago we had weird bugs like ghost events on the roads, perhaps it can be good for the RP ?
