Yeah I get that but it dovetailed nicely into one of my favorite tangents.

Also copy and pasting is still dumb. Like it never occurred to them that people could change the numbers.

No one had any reason to frown at copy and pasting back then as now. It was quick and convenient and not bothering anybody because the idea of what playing the game meant was different.

Would attacking someone for bad typing be considered an OOC shenanigan?

I would consult your towns laws to see if it is illegal for attacking someone with a speech impediment.

They're obviously drunk and need to spend a night in the town jail to sober up.

Why? Is there a law against drunkenness?

I usually ignore bad typing, as long as i understand what the character meant to say.

I have a character that lives in a town in which the leader constantly misspells my character's name. I've never corrected them because I suspect dyslexic may be a factor. So I'd suggest some caution at least. Nothing stopping you from using an ((ooc)) tag to correct misspellings if they really bother you of course.

^That. I did that before to this poor man for about fifty cantr years. He thought it was cute, and never corrected her but that's because my character didn't know any better, and nor did I. He must have typoed his own name, or someone else did when introducing him and the poor fellow stayed misspelled for years.

I love when people misspell Klojt as Kjolt. It's funny how that arrangement of letters is a problem for some. Shows how diverse the world's languages are.

Djorf is the one I have problems with. I'm sure I have charries with it saved as Drojf I the J in Klojt is what causes that

The thing is that I don't think anyone even knows anymore with Djorf and Drojf. The leaders (and maps) consistently misspelled it for so long (and over several generations) that it could have been either as far as my characters are concerned haha.

And yeah the "ojt" sound doesn't sound natural in many languages, whereas Germans or Dutch people probably won't have any trouble.

How in the world did some of these names come to be, anyway? I mean, why are the English regions filled with names like Olipfirovash and Zirinovskoizi?

Maybe it's for the same reasons as Massachusetts and California.

Because they're all just made up fantasy names invented by a guy from... whatever country Jos is from, I forget.
