No one has apparently told Lapallanch that characters shouldn't share names because it makes them look like a family, and characters from one account aren't supposed to form a family.

I love how there's a story from a French character. I'll do the same with my Dutch characters once their latest chapters have been somewhat resolved.

I was wondering about that too. But I wasn't sure if the characters themselves all spawned like that, or if he just did that for the writing site to attach his forum name to them.

French speakers and alligators in a swamp? Sounds like she spawned in the Cajun area by mistake...

Actually the French spawn area is close to a swamp featuring alligators. They are really dangerous (the alligators, not the French).

The writing should be from the perspective of the character and should not try and rewrite events in a way that would contradict the actual game. For example, a character with a loose base of reality might write in the sense that their actions were justified and looked on positively by others, but cannot explicitly state for fact what other characters were thinking/feeling or rewrite anything they actually said.

Outside of that, things should be okay. Once I get things in order, these things will be posted clearly on the site (and a disclaimer that more could be added if there appears a need for it)

Well I didn't call them that way in-game (Only one of my characters had a Lapallanch in his name). For the rest I didn't specify their surname, so I was wondering what to do with their names and decided to just add a 'Lapallanch' to the back of all their first names so that people will know it's my character I guess. I mean, it looks weird with only one word as their names...

By the way it's okay if I let people know the player of a character, right?

There are plenty of characters with just one word for a name. It's not against the rules to let others know that you play a character, but after a while you might change your mind and then it's hard to hide the information once it's been public once.

If that character is yours -and- you don't mind people knowing who you play. There are quite a few players who have found out that having many people know who you play can be a bad thing.

Especially if you like to go around bragging about how your chars are going to start evil slave empires. :P

But seriously though, more than the name, it's things like 'my character is currently imprisoned in [SPECIFIC TOWN]' you have to watch out for. That's definitely an ongoing event (the character is only eight days old of today, really I'd say anything about them would be considered 'ongoing'...), and if it had been 4 days when that story went up, it was just barely.

Really, why's that? I can see if you make all your characters public and some of them are Bad People, but surely one or two isn't a big deal.

I don't like to share it because I don't like being influenced, and I get influenced pretty easily. People sometimes try to guess but I prefer they don't.

Big chance you end up doing something else than you would've done otherwise because you know other chars of a player or they treat you different.. It gives you way more freedom not to know.

Various reasons. I don't mind some people knowing but I try to avoid publicly outing mine because it's led to OOC drama in the past. People take IG conflict too personally sometimes, or sometimes you discover you just plain don't like another player, or don't like always being able to predict how their chars will behav...even when everything remains the same as far as RP goes it can make it less enjoyable.

Though thankfully I've had the complete opposite experience too, where knowing about the player just makes their chars that much more entertaining to interact with. That does seem to be rarer, though.

That's fair. I've been pretty obvious about at least one of mine, but I'll try to keep the rest under wraps for now. Especially the ones that actually aren't causing trouble for a change of pace.
