Greek posted statistics somewhere on the number of locations with literally no trace of humans. No notes, nothing. It's in the statistics topic somewhere. I recall it was hundreds of locations.

Something like 80% of the world, IIRC?

That was the statistic for currently uninhabited. That's another story as there are lots of uninhabited but developed towns.

The least stressful character I play is one who left his spawntown after a day or so and has barely had contact with other humans in years. It wasn't exactly planned (I had no idea the place he'd spawned was so empty) but it's been fun nonetheless.

My solo travellers are all surprisingly stressful. Pirates, xenophobes and phat lewt aplenty. I thought it'd be a simple simmer's paradise, but it really isn't. It's exciting though especially with horses now allowing people to see the unknown locations away from the sea. There are plenty of resource piles (see: statistics thread) and not even half of them (my own guesstimate) are currently owned.

I honestly wish every single one of my newer spawns could spawn in such a place. :(

On another note, it's been one RL year, and I finally got one on Fu!! :D

...
. . .

Boy, is Fu ever boring!! Be careful what you wish for!!

Nope, nope, dude. It's much calmer in-land on the roads. (Read: boring) You can't really idle too much if you're sailing on the high seas. :P

I'm not talking about in-land Fu. It's actually surprisingly busy in some in-land regions that used to be settled. There are so many islands in this game that used to be busy with many different language groups, but now there is more wealth and fewer people which always means trouble (the good kind). A major factor is that few people travel by vehicle in those regions, and many don't have a connection with their neighbours. Guess no one will hear them scream. (:

Oh, I know which islands you're talking about...

The population is concentrated in a few spots with vast emptiness between them. Stay put and be happy at home, I guess. :P

I had a char spend a few decades inland on fu with hardly seeing another char.
I just probably identified that char, oh well.

Survival was a challenge and there was no gatherable food and lots of aggressive animals (mostly wolves and bears, oh my!). He finally found a wooden cart (slower than walking, but it did save his life). He spent a long time lost with no map in the forests of Fu, but I did find the simming as a relaxation. I pretty much had a system that helped me survive and could have stayed there forever, but the char had a goal.

Reviving this topic.

I'd like to play a character who's nice and optimistic but not naïve or childish.

I'd also like to play a character who's intelligent and rather a leader than a follower, but cares about people and puts their happiness ahead of making profit.

Something like evil dictator like Emperor Palpatine on Star Wars

Yeah, won't happen on this game for many reasons but idea is interesting me and I would be even happy on being part on building new empire

I'd like to play a strong political leader. Not just a town leader, but someone that's very active with politics in a region. I think one of my characters finally has the opportunity to do it :D

I'd like to play a town leader type again eventually. I'd also like to play somebody who founds an empire/kingdom somewhere and eventually starts conflicts, however short-lived they may be as a result.

Seems like its hard days for empire-building/regional politics in general right now. Is this just my perception, or can old people who have been around since the days of Mighty Old-Time Empire confirm that the conditions then and now are very different?

Don't even need to be one from those times. I have played around.. 2 years and during that time I have seen decline on population which means some island are rather empty now from what they used to be.. So this means less people, less chances to make empire when you kinda struggle even to keep one town alive. (Or well you can claim dozens empty towns but is that empire if you hold 10 towns but only 1 has people?)

Hard to make even regional policies when neighbors are empty towns are just too busy at struggling with running own town. To make empire you need people. And.. I guess empire is also counted as organisation which means having two chars under one would be CR and that complicates things even more.
