real life

To all those who have involvement with my characters...
My characters will continue to suffer sleep. Real life just keep throwing punches. I'm in a constant state of being drained. I want more time and energy to play but most days it's a struggle just to keep a fake smile to keep my kids unaware just how bad things are. I'm not quitting. Hopefully I will come into days where I can enjoy the game again, but for now if you know my characters please feed them. If not I guess I'll just have to start a new.

Take care of yourself first, and welcome back when life allows it. :)

OK, I'm going to find the time to play more, but I've decided to reduce how many characters I have to play... Now my dilemma is which characters. Maybe I should make a poll... Any thoughts?

If you put, we may vote even though voting for one is unfair to others. Like our fav. characters we know only the ones we interract. I hope you keep all in a way or other. :)

I had a hard time figuring out which to cut back, but my thoughts were...which ones am I keeping because -I- enjoy them...and which am I keeping because I would feel guilty letting them go because I'm keeping them for others. I was able to narrow down quite a bit that way.

I agree. I have one character who is becoming very painful to play and though there's been a lot of resistance in-character to them leaving people behind which nearly made me reconsider I really do need to let them go.

To be honest 90% of what I'm doing on Cantr lately has been because people need my characters, not because I'm enjoying it, but I'm sure that will pass and I'll be glad to have some established characters.

Since my cutbacks are one at a time so not asking PD to give them heart attacks, another factor I'm going by is whether the character in question would actually starve themself or whether they have something to live for. Once I'm down to three if I still can't handle it that's the ones that would never give up, so they'd have to be heart attacks. So maybe that's something to consider too, depending how you do it.

My characters who feed sleepers will continue to do so, for those who don't you'd already know those wont be fed if mine are involved.

This is the thing I'll need to remember to remind myself of this time around. There's always some combination of stress IRL or just in my character's IG situations that overwhelms me and I get to where I have to step away a few days, and afterwards it's hard to get back in their heads or even force myself to log back in. And then once it's too late I have major regrets.

I've got a strict limit of four characters this time and I've vowed never to check on them at work or let IG events effect my sleep schedule no matter what, which will hopefully avoid the most common way Cantr destroys my life, and I'm eventually going to have all my characters try and get ahold of some poison...in the event it gets to where I can't stand go on playing one of them I can just kill them instead of whatever weird ass psychological reaction it is that makes me avoid my entire account.

...what the description of a poisoned character's body anyway? Does it say they've been poisoned?

Poisons are designed to cause specific effects, so I assume whatever effect caused the character to die.....
That's actually a really good question, now that I think about it. Hunger I can see, but what about the damage-causing poison? Most of the time when someone dies from damage it says something like "animal attack" or "hit by a [insert weapon that made the fatal blow]." Poison obviously doesn't leave a mark like a battle axe....

It says they're damaged when you look at the status bars, but otherwise it's just like eating. Silent and stealthy. If I recall correctly the corpse will have a special message though.

I think chars killed by poison has heart attack as cause of death. I'm not 100% sure though.

"The cause of death is not visible." should be the one for health poison. Not sure if it applies to hunger poison as well.

I've always imagined that the potion that causes damage causes the person who drinks it to bleed through every orifice. Pretty gruesome way to die.

Jesus Christ, Seko.

I don't picture it as anything nearly that dramatic. Cantrian hearts are fragile little things that give out easily and often, introduce poison to their system and it doesn't take much to overload them.

I remember such a scene in "Queen Margot" movie. Did you watch that ? :)
