So, for last year I couldn´t find anything, but, I think, first of November, it´s time for a new selection of the "best chars of the year"!



To make up for difficulty some people had with ranking chars, I'd like to propose a ranking as follows:

- everyone gets 50 points to distribute among chars of their liking.
- everyone can mention a maximum of 10 chars.
- for ease of administration, please make a list like this:

[number of points], [character name] ([any other info you might want to add to make it clearer which char you're talking about]).
= [story/reasoning/rambling/whatever else you'd like to tell]

- feel free to add a reasoning or story behind your vote, we'll enjoy reading it
- you have until midnight on 31 December to get your votes in. Feel free to use your local time, I probably won't be awake much earlier to count the votes anyway
- on (or shortly after) 1 January, I will count the votes and publish the final list.

Remember, this is a positive thread, and all usual forum and game rules apply (of course )
Remember also, that if your char is not named in this list, it doesn't mean anything bad, it's hard to choose just the 10 best out of all the amazing chars around.

I remember several years ago we had categories, that was fun too. But the forums were much more active back then. I wonder if it's possible to get an announcement up in-game to let people know about this topic.

10 points, Elyos Vycarius - he has activated so many people and that's something very important in Cantr

6, Louisa the transsexual - At first when I saw her I was weirded out, but the feeling quickly wore off. She's more of a woman than many cis women. Well played and something different.

5, Emerald - for being a valuable town manager

5, KC - She keeps a low profile but it's cool that she manages to stay active even though she's so mind-blowingly old. Also she has such an interesting life story even though she tends to keep it to herself.

5, Tom Telling - sometimes he sleeps a lot but he's such a caring character, and it makes total sense that he has a hawk for a pet

5, Arianna of KMN - I've met her with at least three of my characters and they all liked her.

4, Jethra - a nice guy, makes taking care of cows look like fun

4, Esticar Gyl - kind of creepy but he seems to see the world more vividly than anyone else

4, Alice Kirkland - she's so dedicated to her town, it's a very ungrateful job but she does it anyway, and takes care of all the people who wander there to die

3, Amanda of Jakara - She's lost so many people but still manages to keep the town together

I know we can only give points to ten characters, but I'm still going to list a bunch of honorable mentions in non-specific order.

I think I prefer anonimity too, but even an anonym post would expose some of my chars . If you can write them to a txt file and add to the results later, I can PM you my list. Still I need to haggle a bit

But for my own list,
20 points to Corey, originally of Omeo
10 points to Vance for putting up with her (or is it the other way around?)
4 points to Veronica, currently of Midgar, who is a strange, but totally fascinating character.
3 points to Jebrez, currently of Hillman, whose consistancy and strength of character has long intimidated me (as a player)
5 points to Captain Ryder, who I may or may not have a crush on, even though he's fictional.
4 points to Mara of QFN, who, whether intentional or not, plays the villain in the personal stories of many, and yet is guilty only of having boat loads of charm (And using it)
2 points to Ben Grape of Omeo, who's strange sense of humor (or is it delusion?) amuses the residents and baffles the guests
1 point each to Mariah/Kosmo of Midgar (Even if I sometimes just skim through what they've said)

I was planning on making a big post with all anonymous points scrambled just before I announce the final list, so you will never have all votes of one person in one post alone but yes, feel free to PM me with any votings you don't want public, and I'm willing to listen to special requests

Also, if you don't trust me, anyone else is of course free to make anonymous posts for people, too (as long as you don't abuse it to post multiple votes )

1. Analynn Sea, ''Alexian Angel'' 20 points. Now dead but then she was alive she sure was amazing and brought action to Alexilad
2. Peter (Town leader of Alexilad) 20 points Just awesome town leader
3. Mercy May (Lives in Alenz Field South of Cantr Island) 5 points Sweet on lovely person, always fun to rp with her
4. IT (same location as number 3.) 5 points. Just awesome how he plays that person who says everything in third person

I'm nowhere near knowing who I'd name as my top ten, but one character I think I should mention now because unlike the other characters I'd be likely to list she's much younger than my characters. Most of the other characters I could list that have made impressions on me and my characters have been town leaders or at least well up in the hierarchy since before my characters spawned, but not so many newbies have stuck around to make a difference. This young character has been energetic, and productive and generally wakeful, she's confused and annoyed and encouraged my character, she's kept pressing on through some frankly incredibly depressing times and I hope she sticks around for a long time to come. When I think of 'living people my characters know' she's the first one to come to mind for my character who's met her, though I'd very much doubt my character is hers.

That character is Ashea of Seatown. Whoever plays her, at least one person has very much appreciated you efforts and I highly doubt I'm the only one.

Okay here goes mine. Glad this is somewhat anonymous because I'm sure i'm going to leave some people out.

Elyos Vicarius. I'm never really had much more than a line or two interaction with this character, but he is everywhere. When there is a character that young that you have five or more characters that know him then he is really doing some travelling. Not to mention very active and interesting. 5 pts

Nev from Longinazy. If for nothing else then being super active and caring for the town and Kamil. 10 pts

Philis of PDW. Another great town leader. My charrie misses her already but it had to be. 5 pts

Samuel of Baaak Hill South. Excellent RP. Cursed by a sleepy town. 5 pts

Roses and Zol Easton of Dhung Very nice couple and interesting to see their interactions with each other. 5pts/5pts

Marlie Sunrise of Nraam. A dominant character that I have enjoyed watching. 5 pts

Beckett (Deceased) Always enjoyed this character when mine encountered him. Really hated to see him pass. 5 pts

And lastly Coventina of Klojt. I couldnt mention great town leaders without mentioned Coventina. Very much appreciated. 5 pts.

This is a really really tough call. But I decided I will refrain from nominating characters mines are in relationships with out of being extremely biased :p Well except for one cause she really deserves it.

10pts: Arianna of KMN A really great and wonderful person. I've loved every bit of RP I've had with her ever since meeting her.
10pts: Everly Arrington of Amsterdam. Despite the troubles going on there. She never gives up hope and continues to try to make the town a better place.
10pts: Jordan AKA Danger of KMN. Great RP and had a blast so far. Look forward to even more!
5 pts: Cadence of Seatown. I love the RP around her being blind and the detail being put into her posts.
5 pts: Elizabeth of Shortinazy. Despite the hardships going on there she keeps on going for her town. Love her so much.
5 pts: Laila of Omeo. Anyone who can kill a bear with a wooden spoon deserves praise. Oh and the RP ain't too shabby eithers.
5 pts: Paige formerly of Zuzi. Living her dreams and setting off on a grand adventure has been great so far. Can't wait to see where it takes us.
