Cantr Technology in relation to real world.

I had the unfortunate experience of spending several hours in a hospital waiting room today and one of the things I occupied my time with was trying to compare Cantr technology with real world technology. Mainly if you disregard radio and motorized vehicles at what period of world history would the cantr world compare to.
The best I could come up with would be the early 1400's? Just before the invention of black powder firearms. The only thing Cantr is missing would be horseback riding maybe things connected to that such as chariot or horse drawn carriages. I spent some time thinking about muskets and how it would take an active project to reload and how if you had to make a musketball or slug of some sort make gunpowder and a day to reload you could only shoot once every three days or so. I'm not going to make an official suggestion but if someone else wants to feel free to take what I have and go with it. I have my doubts any firearms beyond crossbows will ever be approved.
After the musket i spent some time thinking about electricity and steam engines and how coal miners could be a very popular occupation some day.
No real point to make here. Just some random thoughts I had about Cantr today.

There have been suggestions for railroads and steam engines before...
I'd agree with you, except that there are also cars and electronics.

So the level of technology in Cantr is... well, not period. To anything.

Well, considering that radios work without electricity, and cars can be manufactured by anyone, without having to worry about adding oil, coolant, seats, or small parts like gears or gaskets, I'd argue that these things are just magic, and agree with 1400s

For my next magic trick, I'm gonna to pull a hundred notes out of my sleeve telling you to let me out of this freaking prison.

The ability to produce infinite notes seems like an extremely evolved trait. No, Cantr is set in the 3000s.

It's set in another universe made out of chocolate and bunnies, sometimes chocolate bunnies...
But now, in seriousness, it's another universe. Has no real time frame and to the Radio and vehicles comment. Radios could run off batteries that are made along with the radio and I always just assumed small vehicle parts is what you were making along with said vehicle.

I still remember when it was possible to make helicopter engines...

The crossbows already make a lot of damage (around 42); I think that any weapon above that, would be against the spirit of the game. And it would have no sense that a crossbow could make more damage than a firearm. So yep, I don't think they will ever be approved.

I've heard some people can deal over 60 damage with a crossbow. I think that's too much, and surely it can't be intentional. I think the code should be rewritten so that no weapon would deal more than say 52 or 53 points of damage, even if the attacker's skills were maxed out. But in the other hand, it should be possible to deal that even if the skills weren't maxed out.

Wow that is insane. Yes, it's too much.

I have a character who has done sixty five with a battle axe. I assume the shield was utterly ineffective, but I found the hit startlingly high. Has happened more than once though.

I had a couple characters who were rather high up there in damage dealing.
Damage dealing now though, I think those high numbers take a lot more into consideration before they are reached. Tiredness, sickness, hunger for example, they could lead to inflated damage potential if on the extreme sides, unless my observations have been coincidental.
