An iron needle requires no tools or machines to make, just 10 grams or iron.

Tell me how this is possible without using any tools, machines, or magic.

I'm pretty sure you shape it like putty with your fingers.

I'd not mind a good redesign of several of the processes for making tools.

Is telekinesis magic?

As I've already said I believe in Cantrian telekinesis.

The same way as:

Well, looking at it this way, the ten grams required for a needle is way more weight than the needle its self would weigh. Perhaps the needle's created by whittling one piece of iron using the sharp edge of another, until all that's left is a thin stick of it.

The magic word for this is: "Abstraction".

In describing the project the key elements are mentioned: what you want to make, what materials are necessary, which notable tools and machines are used and how long the project usually takes.
Everything else is 'not worth mentioning', so it isn't. It's simply abstracted out.

I imagine it's similar to carrying 10 kilos of water in your open hands :)

If I didn't know better, I would think Doug was trying his first attempt at trolling!
