One of my characters did actually raise an eyebrow and query the quality of a meaty food when their boyfriend handed them the last of a very large batch that he'd been carrying around for over 5 years...
My character was both impressed (at how much he must've been carrying to start with) and not impressed (at the 'gift') at the same time.
