I have a char who is much stronger than average and an expert fighter. What should I use? A crossbow or a steel battle axe? Also, Steel Scutum or Kite Shield?

Why is NO ONE asking "what would your character prefer"? Did you ever ask him/her? Using weapons just because they're the strongest statistically is no fun. There's a large number of weapons to make for interesting rp'ing. If everyone had a crossbow, that's just boring.

Well, my char really wants the best thing. He has people he needs to protect.

If you want to know which would be the most effective for your character then the answer is a crossbow. The crossbow has the highest attack value, skillweight is irrelevant since you're character is both expert and much stronger than average.

I have a char using a rapier just because she likes it. She was given a battle axe because of her strength, but she didn't like it so much (now she misses it a bit) and she lost it somehow...

A good characters have a good weapon is the best character i have now i like to know what is the best weapon can i use for my warrior character. thanks.

Crossbow, no contest.

But only if it's a good fighter right?

Claymore for bad fighter, but otherwise crossbow is best and also nice thing to brag about
