Okay I'm confused about this, first because how do you bury someone on a ship? Second because I'm role playing that I'm just throwing him off the ship but why does that take so long? Does anyone think there should be a new feature for disposing of bodies on ships? While docked and or while out at sea?

Burying on a ship is basically throwing them overboard.
I don't know why it takes so long. Maybe the body starts on one side and you have to roll it across the deck to get it to the other side so it'll fall in properly. I don't know.
I don't think you can do this while docked. Which is a good idea imo, because I don't want dead bodies polluting my harbor and the immediate shoreline. (Okay, now somebody needs to implement this )

My suggestion, don't try to throw the body over until right before the tick and just so happen to be holding a shovel.

Of course, ship burials usually need something heavy to be tied to the body, so it'll sink. You can rp that with it, maybe? As a part of burying.

The Anglican Communion has detailed procedures for burial at sea. The ship has to be stopped, and the body has to be sewn in canvas, suitably weighted. Anglican (and other) chaplains of the Royal Navy bury cremated remains of ex-Naval personnel at sea. Scattering of cremated remains is discouraged, not least for practical reasons.
