Things you love about Cantr

Postby SekoETC » Sun Jun 09, 2013 12:42 pm

I'll start.
- exploring and making maps.
- doing things I couldn't do in real life, like playing pirates, male characters, lesbians, etc.
- manufacturing things that look good, like clothes.
- coming up with custom descriptions.
- interacting with people.

What I love is the sense of freedom I get from it. In real life, you gotta worry about boring things like going to work, dealing with tons of people, dealing with traffic, paying bills, etc.

Sometimes when I'm in a town that's on the shore and where there's only a few people, I just think man I wish I was there. No pollution, no trouble, plenty of food, and usually you can get a house and boat real cheap.

That's the life to me.

-Getting away from anything really much like modern Earth (despite people trying to pretend it's more like modern Earth than it is)
-Being free from normal obligations
-Having easy access to materials and skills for creativity

Probably just the fact that it persists. I can go away for years and come back and it's still there. Down to less than a thousand players, but plugging along, due to the ministrations of a revolving but dedicated crew of rare nerds -- high praise from me.

So I just signed up again to play a bit and see if the magic is still there. Wonder if the powers will approve my application for an ID.... that's a weird thing I don't really remember.
