Questions about the window

I have a few questions about the window, as I've never used or made one before.
#1: Does the material used make any difference?
#2: Say I have a building which has a room inside it, if I installed a window in the room but not the main building can you still see outside? If not, what if I put a window in both rooms?
#3: What does having the window open or closed actually do apart from stopping people passing items?
#4: What can I see happening through a window?

1. You can't see the material once the project is finished, although you can mention it in the custom description of the room.
2. If you installed a window in the sub room, you couldn't see outside. You could only see the people in the first room and hear what they say. Even if you put a window in the first room, the situation would be the same for the second room.
3. When the window is closed, it's as if it didn't exist, so you can't hear any conversations from the other side.
4. You can hear talking but you can't hear radios. You can also see if someone passes things through the window, but not when people pass things to each other on the other side of the window. I don't know if you can see anything else.

Cheers. I forgot when writing that up that I wanted to ask about the eating system as well. What does filling your stomach with food actually do? Sorry for all these questions, I stopped playing a while back and I'm not familiar with the new features

Food in the stomach doesn't count towards weight carried in your inventory, so it's especially useful when traveling with a motorcycle. If you eat say 2 kilos of cooked meat, you'll be set for a long time and still have room for resources on your bike. If you eat healing food while not injured and later get hurt, it will heal you during the eating tick even if you weren't online or were locked up somewhere with no healing food in your inventory. Also if I need to move a large bunch of resources, I eat all the daily food from my inventory to maximize what I can carry, without having to put anything down.

So, I have discovered that you can whisper out a window to someone else in a completely different building as long as they also have a window open... Is this an acceptable exploitation of Cantr mechanics, or should I avoid it in the future?

It may not make logical sense, but I see no reason why we shouldn't do it if the mechanics have been set up in such a way to allow this.

For whispering (and talking, passing items etc) purposes characters are treated as "in the same location" if they are at most one room apart from a common outdoors location, and both locations have an open window. This is by design. It should be the same for any indoors location, with inner windowed rooms too, but I never had a chance to see this in reality.

If I whisper to another person in the same room as me, do others on the other side of the window know I am whispering?

Unless the window is closed, yes.
