While this makes sense for starving animals, it's a problem if there isn't any way to return animals to the wild other than starving them, which isn't a very pleasant thing to do even if it is the character's intention for them to return to the wild.

Will starving animals return to the wild, if there is wild population? Is there probability that they will die?

I really wish we could domesticate more things, like tortoises, elephants (also can be a steed) and dogs. But especially rats, I want pet rats in game lol. But I think it's also good they can't be because.. I have at least one character who would just tame every single rat he meets XD Maybe it's for my own good.

I agree with domesticating more animals. I have one character who would absolutely love a wolf/dog.

I think I recall hearing that dogs and cats are coming soon ™

Cats are supposed to reduce rot rates once indoor rot is implemented. And dogs are supposed to ward off animal attacks.

Can we have packs of guard dogs that we can sic on robbers and sleepy newspawns?

I'd settle for dogs/wolves.

That would be very neat.

They say a cat gives you it's "rat" because it thinks you can't catch your own.

I really wish there was a way to have domesticated animals eat certain foods without having to put them in separate rooms/buildings. I mean like for birds that will eat anything, say you feed them hay but don’t want them to eat the meat feed used for a different animal. Outside of having to carry them around also. Like a little menu to pick what feed you want them to eat. :/

Now all we need is the ability to domesticate rats and one of my characters' life will be truly complete.

Um, aren't animals who go hungry supposed to go back to wild rather than starving? We're having animals die that should be going back to wild, they were not in a pack, just sitting on the ground. Also there was a basket of feed and the animal was just adopted and only went hungry for a single day, is this normal?

lol sorry it's me yet again.

I had a question about the new animal crates, what benefit do they serve, like does it make it easier to drag the animals without needing them to be adopted or needing 8 people to drag it? Or is it just to have a lockable container to put animals in? I'm just wondering what reasons I would ever actually want to build them, and the wiki page doesn't tell me anything about what difference this makes in game besides RPing having animals in a crate. Just wondering, thanks :)

They don't give any extra benefit other than giving you a place to "store" animals in, that might make moving larger "flocks" of animals easier for example. They don't make dragging easier or anything like that, though.
