825-7: You see Kiel Stern kill Usko (seems retarded, attacked people) using a hunting bow.

825-7: You say to Usko (seems retarded, attacked people): "OOC: Yeah, but this isn`t a game you play to win. It`s an RPG. And if you kill him off you play really bad...You are supposed to live in to your character. How realistic is it to commit suicude over a thing like this?"

825-7: Usko (seems retarded, attacked people) says: "up yours, Mister?"

825-7: Usko (seems retarded, attacked people) says to you: "yes i did (ooc - i know, but it would only take a small wound to kill him and days to get back to ful strentgh, so i may as well start a new char)"

825-7: You say: "Usko! You can`t do that. *he frowns* Ask the man for forgiveness!"

825-7: You say to Usko (seems retarded, attacked people): "Did you just give away your food, Usko? OOC: How disappointing if you kill him off just because he has had a bad start..."

825-7: Kiel Stern says: "why did you hit me????"

825-7: You see Usko (seems retarded, attacked people) talking to Kiel Stern.

825-7: You see Usko (seems retarded, attacked people) pointing at Kiel Stern.

825-7: You see Usko (seems retarded, attacked people) hurt Kiel Stern using a bare fist.

825-7: You see Kiel Stern hurt a rabbit using a hunting bow.

825-7: You see Kiel Stern hurt a deer using a hunting bow.

825-7: Kiel Stern says: " I will trade wood for food my name is kiel."

825-5: You see Usko (seems retarded, attacked people) give some potatoes to a woman in her twenties.

824-6: You see Usko (seems retarded, attacked people) hurt a moose using a bare fist.

824-6: You say to Usko (seems retarded, attacked people): "Why not? We live like a big family here...wouldn`t you like to be a part of it?"

824-6: You see Usko (seems retarded, attacked people) arriving in Blaman Forest, coming from Southern Coast Way to Sjoftich.

824-6: You arrived at Blaman Forest.

824-6: Usko (seems retarded, attacked people) says: "no, i dont not"

824-6: You say: "OOC: Ok, but he changed his behavior anyway :)"

824-6: You say: "*Alexander gives you a troubled look* Why would I want to kill you, Usko? Life is the most sacred thing. Don`t you want to live anymore?"

824-6: Usko (seems retarded, attacked people) says: "ooc- he isnt retarded, hes supposed to be like a wildman who has grown up in the wild)"

824-6: You say: "OOC: He just seamed a lot less retarded suddenly :)"

824-6: Usko (seems retarded, attacked people) says: "ooc -no. why would i?"

824-6: You say: "OOC: Are you talking OOC now?"

824-6: Usko (seems retarded, attacked people) says: "i am at 3%, why dont you just kill me? here on the road? my body wont litter a town then"

824-6: You say: "As long as you stay with me and don`t attack people you will be fine. *he smiles* Don`t worry, Usko. Why did you leave? If you need anything we can try to provide it for you."

824-6: Usko (seems retarded, attacked people) says: "what is going to happen to me?"

824-6: You say: "Yes. Many people feel that you should be punished for what you did. I have told them that I will take care of you and show you how to behave. I wouldn`t like to see you hurt, Usko....and I hoped that you perhaps would like to stay with us at the church."

824-6: You turned around.

824-6: You see Usko (seems retarded, attacked people) turning around.

824-6: Usko (seems retarded, attacked people) says: "trouble?"

824-5: You say to Usko (seems retarded, attacked people): "*he smiles* If you like you could stay here with us. But first you must understand that you can not hit people or take things from the ground. If you do, you make them sad."

824-5: Usko (seems retarded, attacked people) says to you: "no. Usko do anything you say"

824-5: You say to Usko (seems retarded, attacked people): "Usko, I want to help you. Do you have any friends or relatives?"

I think you should just let the PD deal with it, instead of all that OOC chatter.

Also I don't like the idea of adding more time for one reason, the legit players lose out on a quickly paced spawning, and they have to suffer for that. Not fair- Especially since new peeps are just joining and would get bored being stuck with 2 chars for 2 days and quit by then!

-And I'm saying this even though I have no need for new chars.

Yeah...I have never bugged people like that before.
I'm just fed up with people killing the characters off as soon as they run into a little trouble...I have seen it a lot the last weeks.

yeah, i agree. a waiting period of maybe about 4 days doesn't really wouldn't be such an inconvenience to people who play legitimately. spawning a character is a pretty rare event if you aren't suiciding them all over the place. plus i'm sure we could all survive with one less character for a few days if that's what it meant we would have to suffer through to make this madness cease.

Yes. Personally I would like to see a longer waiting time than 4 days, but it is better than nothing :)

THe waiting time is one per day last time i spawned, last year.

My point is when I first joined, I really didn't get the point of the game, and if I was stuck with 2 chars for 7 days joining, I would've left by that time! I'm saying its bad for new players just joining. They'll get bored, and LEAVE!

@pirog: Heh, I was wonderin when you'd explode on these suicidal spawns

I wouldn't call that exploding :)
But as I had to ask another OOC question I felt that I might as well continue. And since they were private they didn't really disturb the game.

But I agree with you, perhaps it could be programmed so that the first 15 characters can be started as it is now...but after them it would tale longer?

I personally dont like the idea :?

When a character of mine dies i like to be able to start a new one right away, i would hate to have to wait 4 or more days just to create a new one.

But unless you keep killing off your characters on purpose they very rarely die. How hard can it be to play a week or so with 14 characters once in a while?

Unless some kind of "penalty" comes in effect it is best if we just let people choose their spawn point.
(I wouldn't like that, but it is better then the waves of suicidals...)

I agree with Pirog. When a player has about 10 characters the waiting time for creating a new one should increase, if it were up to me, up to 2 weeks. This way ppl who normally kill off their characters if they spawn somewhere not to the liking of the player would reconsider killing his char, and probably give his char a chance. I too become sick of having to chase the same old petty note thieves and bare-fist attackers.

All of my char's try to avoid death, no matter what and I've never "suicided" one. Alas some players don't care and don't care about their char's like I do. Some players rather let their char's die than subjecting to a ruler, loosing some health, or loss of face.

A nice compromise would be to let someone have 2 deaths in close succession before a limit got put on their account.

Occassionaly you screw up or you just spawn in a bad spot (*cough*Lad*cough*) and end up dead pretty quick without it being your fault.

If someone is spawn-shopping there's a good chance they'll have a couple of chars die in close succession. Then they should be blocked.

Another option is to factor age in - maybe there's only a limit on 20 year old chars dying. Aside from bad animal luck or a lad style execution there's almost no reason why a char should die when it's still 20 years old. This would prevent having people with older chars having to wait when one of theirs dies.

Third idea is have the system flag people who have chars die within "x" period of spawn time and send their death e-mail to PD as well. It's usually pretty obvious when a char suicides.

Hehe, I think the ones who can't handle playing with 14 characters instead of 15 for a week or two needs some time off from Cantr to try to keep their addiction in check ;)

This is the best idea I have heard all month. Put a 1 week delay on people's who have char's die at 20 years old.

Because for the above mentioned reason, older chars do die- and some do commit suicide at an older age, which at times is for a good roleplay reason.

One of my 30 year olds has fallen into a guilty spell to whom may decide suicide is the only choice. And lemme note that I only have 8 chars...

Blerg. I had a char spawn right in the middle of Piers' massacre of Cantr City. Died when I went to visit my girlfriend that night :( So I wanted to spawn his replacement. (who also ended up in Cantr City, but fortunately they had moved on by then :))

NVN - yeah - those situations are those oddity that would be frustrating under a 20yo rule.... but it's a relatively rare occurance and basically just plain bad luck.

What might be best if any ort of a lockout rule was implemented would be to give PD the power to overrule it - so you could send them a note telling them what happened and when they check the logs and clearly see it was a wrong place/wrong time kind of deal they could reinstate your spawn privelage.
