Just curious how many of everyone's characters own or stole a vehicle.
Out of my 14, only 3 own a vehicle. Others will have some soon though.

None owned, none stolen, none used as yet.

2 of my 15 characters own ships...that is all.

I have one who will soon aquire a tandem bike if everything works out as planned.

By the way...do you get a lock automatically on the vehicle or do you have to build one after it is finished? It seems risky to have one standing around unlocked...

none of my characters have ever been on a vehicle either... and they're all around or near 30 years old...

you have to build a lock for vehicles and buildings
mine only have tandem bikes and a longboat, rather pathetic if you ask me

I cannot count the number.... been in an owned abit of vehicles in my time.

Uhhhhh, one owns and rides a boat, yes, I know that, and has riden in a captured sportscar and issued bike before. The other has riden in the two types of bikes, but doesn't own it not that he needs it. The other has hitched a ride on a vehicle before...thats about it, excluding one who had stolen their boat.

I had a lot of vehicles back in the day before I lost my characters. I think 3 had longboats, 2 had tandems, and one was working on building a skimmer.

are you sure? that never seems to happen...ive always needed to build a lock on my vehicles, and some guy in dory had his boat stolen immediately after it was made because he didnt get a chance to put a lock on it

Boats are built with locks although they don't start out locked, but other vehicles need locks built in them.

Unless it was just recently, because Longboats have had no lock being made on them after completion for the past month, almost. Because Longboats don't require Iron to be built, a lock would be impossible to create automatically - it's made from Iron. But I put it back on just 10 minutes ago.

It may be removed later though, we're discussing what to do with the vehicles that don't need Iron to be built, and if locks should be kept on them or removed.

Well I'm talking with knowledge around day 650 so maybe it's changed since then but you also have to remember not all locks have to be made out of iron. In fact I don't know of any boat that can be locked with a padlock. Unless it was like an ark.

I just went through the entire database of land vehicles, and all of them except 4 have locks put on them. Bike, Tandem Bike, Tricycle, and one other which will not be mentioned, because I believe it's SUPPOSED to have a lock because it's like a car... >.> So I'll add a lock to it.

And that's true. Not all locks need to be made with Iron. But the actual Vehicle Lock that you add to a vehicle is made from Iron using a Screwdriver. So logically, if you built a lock automatically on your vehicle, you'd be making a "Vehicle Lock", which uses Iron and a Screwdriver, but the vehicle doesn't ask for it.
