what if leaders and knowledgeable people disappeared in town

Postby kaloryfer » Sat Mar 24, 2012 12:31 pm

Hi all :)

One of my characters was exploring forgotten lands, where ancient empires of years 1800-2300 existed. They left a lot of notes, buildings, basically one can say that a quite developed civilization existed there. For me it was a great load of fun, reading these old old notes about conflicts, betrayals, wars.

Other of my characters was observing a curious dialogue in one of (totally unrelated) towns. Basically, it came out that he was just one of settlers there, and that town had existed for much much longer time. However, he (nor anyone else) could understand the meaning of some notes.

Now I have some thinking excercise for all of you :) what would happen if in your town, almost every important (in leadership)/older (lets say age >= 30) person disappeared (just poof gone, i dont mean any attack or deaths). How much history would be lost? Would those who remain (younglings) and newcomers understand the history ?

Cheers :) !

Almost all of mine are in or barely out of their twenties, but they're all pretty high-placed or important. So.. I might be the underminer in this little thought-scheme haha. It would create quite some chaos throughout the world!

I found that most players really don't care about the history of a region. But personally, I think it's very interesting finding old notes, especially if they're well written.
