A suggestion about more cantr playing time.

I dunno if this has been suggested before, but I don't think so...
How bout the following:
I always spend a lot of time in cantr, and I don't have enough on 200 minutes playing time... I need more, (I am totally addicted and sometimes forget to log of and notice it 2 late...)
So.. perhaps you should be able to pay for minutes,
My idea would be: everybody would get 200 mins free, just like now.. but for the really addicted pple there should be a way to pay for extra minutes.
Like you would pay 2 dollars a month (which isn't much) to get 100 extra playing time per day. This way, the new players, or players who do not spend that much time on cantr ( and actually have a social life) don't have to pay, and nothing changes for them, but pple like me, would be able to play more for only 2 dollars a month.
That way you cantr guys have more income and we cantr players would have more time 2 play...
(edit... I wanted to put it on the suggestions board, but made a little mistake, I see now...)

We all do...
I also need 5 million Euro's on my bank account. I bet its easier to get those as to get Jos granting extra minutes to donators.

Euro's... And i didn't say it'd be easy, i meant to say it's not as hard as to convince Jos to give donators certain advantages.
//edit: And I'll tell u the secret how to make 5 million Euro's for... 5 million Euro's.

o right euro's...
and I got that part that it would be hard 2 convince jos,
but perhaps you really found a way 2 get rich fast :
perhaps we should ask jos real nicely?

I don't think people should be able to get more minutes as it would be unfair on children who can't pay if they need more minutes and why should people have more minutes than other people???

Just log out if that happens and you won't lose the minutes.

The timer works based on clicking on the links (the exception is the log out link). So you only lose the time if you click on another link.

Sico van der Meer wrote:I think this is the 58th topic that restarts the discussion about the time limit. I will again (& again & again) give my opinion.
First of all: YES, the time limit has been created long ago, when server problems arose due to the growing amount of Cantr players and thus a growing amount of data traffic. So let's be happy with the time limit: it means we have a lot of players. And YES, Cantr is run by volunteers and is free of charge for everyone, so we do not have that much money to rent the best server you could think of. So YES, all donations are very welcome - even to be able to rent the current server!
Secondly: NO, Cantr will never (I hope) give more possibilities in the game to players who donate money, compared to players who do not donate. Cantr is a free game for everybody, not only for people able to pay. Again: donations are more then welcome, but only to run the game for everyone, not only for the people donating.
But thirdly: WHY do you guys never listen to the other argument for the time limit? Even if we will receive so much donations that we will be able to rent the best server, I hope we will not abolish the time limit. This limit is not only important for stability of the server, but also for stability IN THE GAME. Most players do play Cantr only once or twice a day. I presume 95% of the players do never reach their 200 minutes. But if there would not be a time limit, that other 5% of the players would play 24 hours a day, and would be going to dominate the game. TIME = POWER in Cantr. The game would be more fun for this 5% of players maybe, but not for the other 95%.
So, what I just wanted to say (again & again & again) is that the time limit is not that bad as it seems...

Wow, thanks a lot Spook! Now I don't need to copy my reaction myself again (& again & again & again)...

Psssh 192nd time more like the 400th, and yes as Spook qouted the time limit is there for a reason so just get use to it. Jos is never going to give anything to donators, but donations are very welcome.

IMO it would not be harmful if the game were to give a maximum 10 minute penalty between clicks.
A simple modal operation.
If the time between clicks is X then take Y
1 then 1
9 then 9
10 then 10
11 then 1
19 then 9
20 then 10
21 then 1
etc.
