Newspawns that never even move a muscle.

There is a considerable number of characters that spawn and never do anything.
No talking, no moving, no picking up things, no making projects or wirting notes not even pushing the wrong buttons in the screen.
This is a different from the suicidal ones or the thieving ones or the trolls or any type of live newspawns.
Ok this is more a question about players. I would just like to know why a player would push the create button and make a new character and then do absolutely nothing with him.

This might happen if new players never find out their request for an account was accepted and ready for them to log in, or they do log in and don't find interesting what they see. Of course there are other reasons.

i dont think they get a newspawn when their account is created. otherwise there would be tons of newspawns that never moved for days, but were plenty active afterwards. im pretty sure their char officially spawns when they first physically log in.
fingersmith, that bothers me soooooo badly. the only thing i can figure is that there are lots of players who dont like their chars to be weak. so if they log in and see their char is weak, instead of taking the effort to play that char, they let it die so they can try and roll for a strong one.
also, i think many players, if they think they spawned in a quiet town, they leave that char alone to die instead of just moving the char around and trying to find something...
i could never do either of those things, personally.

Can't lie, I've done both of those things before. T.T

I've done this with more than one exp/msta char. Sometimes it has to do with spawning one in an area where you already have too many chars. That's boring and opens things up to problems when your chars are too close together. Sure, I hate to lose that "good roll" but I generally have more fun with the chars that aren't the best anyway. I'd rather spawn another instead of spending a decade or more moving that char to another location. Shame on me.

I appreciate the players who let them sleep if they have no intention of playing them. Far better than having to deal with a trollish char who pushes to get themself killed and impacts those around them in a negative way just for the sake of a quick death.
And I'm fairly certain that new accts do spawn a char (or two depending on what the player chooses) as soon as the acct is approved.

I get more annoyed with a player that spawns a character, gives them a physical description, RP's them for a day then abandons them and sleeps forever until they die and I have to waste my time burying them and waiting to get back the hammer or wholes given to them because they seemed to be a contributor.

I can understand that to a point. It has happened to me a few of my characters spawning to 'akward' places , and yes I tend to create another character right away to compensate , but at the same time I start moving those characters towards more 'interesting' places . The reason is that if I just let them die it would take appr. 60 days (20 days to die plus 40 days penalty) for a new character slot to open whereas in 60 days those unfortunate characters will propably have found some place to call home.

Maybe we should just go back to the old system and eliminate strength and fighting skill so everyone's the same.

I don't really have a problem with fighting skill.. but strength does bug me... 9 of my 15 chars are below average.. 5 of those being very weak.. it's not a big deal to me because none of my characters really care about hurting people, but it's annoying when it comes to trying just to help someone drag someone and they are already sitting around 64 percent and I'm still not enough and we have to get another person. Just seems ridiculous how much the difference is.

What is annoying me the most is that a boat can dock to where you are at, and a strong character can pull your weak character onboard that boat, and then into a hold, and then explain to you that you are now a (sex-) slave.
Screws all my RP intentions with that character for sure.

How good someone is at dragging also depends on their fighting skill.

One thing I'm confused on. Why isn't there an "average" strength? Most of my characters are either way below or way above average, there's very little middle ground.

There is an average strength but, ironically, it's not average at all.

These are the stats on my characters as they were when they spawned. The second number indicates the numbers now.
Msta - 6
Sta - 2
A - 3
Wta - 2
Mwta - 1
Exp - 2/3
Sk - 1/1
Eff - 7/6
Nov - 1/2
Awk - 3/2
I've kept all of them regardless of these stats. As for dragging and sex slaves....I'm fortunate that hasn't happened to me.
Sorry, I know this isn't. Completely relevant and typo-free, but I'm on a time crunch, so there you go.

Ok. I really don't like fighting skill either...
