Inheritance of wealth when a character dies

I think in other games it's pretty common to give away possessions before quitting if the system allows it, but in Cantr when someone quits, they normally drop without a word being said and scatter their junk all across the town square. It's pretty rare that people would take their friends into account when death approaches, although I remember one case when someone was quitting and they gave their keys to my character.
Maybe in other games the difference is that stuff disappears along with the account, so people know others wouldn't have a chance to pick up the items if they remained on the account. In Cantr the only thing that gets deleted is clothes worn by a dead person being buried, and even those can be removed. It means the economy is loaded with wealth that originally came from dead people, and very little of it actually deteriorates because objects get repaired and resources only rot when left outside. Does the average quitter not have friends in-game, are they content with town leaders getting richer after each death or do they simply not think about it? I think it's good that items survive beyond death but not good that in most cases, it goes into the town's storage rooms because even if the dead person had friends, they're not present and no one knows where or who they are.
I think one of my characters has written a will and even that's outdated. I think the rest are just trusting themselves to be immortal. One has a note describing their body but I wonder if anyone would notice it among all the other notes if she happened to die.
