I think turn time limits shouldn't exist.

I do think there should be a longer amount of game play. But if the admins don't see it that way, it's their game.

While I would enjoy more time, I must assume it is a neccessity. I can't imagine anyone going through all of the work to make this game and then limit play without a good reason.

Ya, its the way it is for a reason. A long while ago we used to have no time limit, thats when the game would go down for about 2-3 weeks until the start of the next month cause we were out of bandwidth. A time limit was put in to limit the amount of bandwidth use among other reasons im sure. Its fine how it is...

When everything is fine, 200 minutes might be enough, but Cantr is slow again, lately. The fist check of my 15 chars can take upto 40 minutes... On such days 50 min's extra would be really welcome.

200 minutes seems about right. I've only ran out once; and that was becuase I was constantly refreshing one character trying to catch someone out of a building. Otherwise, I always have plenty left. Any more time, and I would be on here all the time!

But why do you think the server is so slow? :) ... If we increase the time limit, more people will play longer (we have seen this before we had the time limit and some people played extremely active), and the server will get slower.

The problem is, very few people tend to reach the time limit or would play longer than the time limit if we removed the ban. But those very few people would play so active, that they take up all resources, and create bandwidth problems and slow server problems, which affect all players. So I do think it is a useful mechanism. And seriously, 200 minutes every day is really a lot of time :) ...

Besides, what for some is a major argument as well, is that the game becomes almost impossible to play for those that do not have hours a day available if some people do play continuously. If you just log in once or maybe twice a day - the kind of player this game was originally designed for - and some people have been talking and talking all day long, it becomes impossible to catch up and have an interesting game. The original idea of most activity taking place in buildings and people visiting each other when they need each other never really happened, so that every player in a town sees everything. So if some players play all the time, the ones that play so once in a while will be unable to play any interesting role in a town. That was the situation before the town limit, and that has also improved a lot.

*EDIT* Just to emphasise: the game has always tried to be on a very difficult balance between being a slow-paced, play-once-a-day kind of game, where people play at different times of the day etc., and an online real-time game. That balance really is difficult to maintain, and if we really choose for either side (really slow-paced or really active realtime action), we will loose a serious part of our player base, which would be a serious loss.

Yeah, time limits are good. It's not so good to play for three and a half hours in a day because it kind of looks like you have nothing else to do maybe . . .

I never really had a problem with time sometimes I would run out of time just before I was going to bed and I would get screwed ina conversation, but that was maybe only once a week. I also had 15 characters to deal with and a really crappy internet connection. I suggest if you find yourself running low on time that you simply log out after reading a long page of text and/or limit your characters a bit. Not having 15 characters can be a good thing since it gives you time to really make a few good ones.
