What's with the RP of stupid people?
1. Some of these things projects can be figured out by actually think.
Does anyone else have an issue with people playing dumb?

Somehow you strayed and lost your way,
and now there'll be no time to play,
no time for joy,
no time for friends
- not even time to make amends.
You are too naïve if you do believe life is innocent laughter and fun.

What fun would it be if everyone knew everything? You've gotta have those that need to be taught. Heck, the 'stupid characters' are what make this game interesting.

hmmmm....my character is suddenly going to realize how to build a car...not my style of role play. I like my characters to figure things out by playing around or experimenting or learn from someone else.

Thats all well and cool but who is anyone to tell another player they can't play smart? So, long as they don't break the CR.

Personally, I have no problem with it. Just saying that the 'stupid' people make it fun. ~picks up a hunting bow~ "How do I use this?"

Maaaaybe.
Of course, we could argue for no purpose at all. Now, I also think that if you are to play a character that figures things out, they should at least research it, even if it's only verbally stating beliefs with others, you know? I can give an example if I've confused people.

I also agree with the agreement above...
Just to confuse people....
And being a new player, I can see how odd a few things in Cantr are anyway. Asking, or trying things out yourself, is the only way to do it.
One of my characters farmed apples for a while, before realising they arent much good for eating, only for healing. He then asked about eating food, and was given bread. He then started farming wheat to make more bread.
NOw that makes sense, doesnt it?

All my chars start out "stupid" and ask alot of questions that any experianced player is going to think is a bit simple. But the thing is that's how I make sure a char "knows" what they need to know, there's alot of "common" knowledge floating around, and by the time a char leaves a big town it's possible to know how to do just about everything you'd want to.
Having a char start on a new island is of course different, merging older chars and the additions that are added to Cantr is also different but both of those situations come back to the way humans have always figured things out, experimentation.

It seems we can classify Cantr chars three ways.
The smart, the stupid, and the crazy.
People, thieves and murderers can be smart, stupid, or crazy.

and we forgot the totally silent people, who start activity after activity completing them and then keep going. they never talk, never interact, just collect resources and make stuff. its very sad, i wish they would say hello.
