If they hadn't created those characters in the Drow group they could have created them in some other place and just happened to spawn with their other characters, and if you are talking about the Programming Department. As Rkl said there is very little programming in it. All they really have to do is add a new area such as they do with any other language group and create a spawnpoint which would go to the new lands department. Which if I am not mistaken consists of Rkl and Jos.

Well there's still 3 people firmly against it so I don't think your persuading articulately. Drow is not even a real language, and I doubt many if any persons on this board are actually fluent in this made up language as once decreed necessary, "also, that it is required that you can read/write somewhat fluently in this language before you start playing such a character." Is it considered Fluent when you need a translator?

You people seem intent on proving that it is not a real language. Technically it is a real language just not a language widely spoken. It is just a fantasy language made by R.A. Salvatore as we have gone over. It's just like Tolkien's Elvish. Now if you are so intent on proving that you people don't want to play it then why are you even bothering to post here. Are you trying to draw people away from our idea? We are just asking you to post here if you want a Drow language group. As stated earlier by Rkl.

Yes I know just those three seem intent on proving they don't want it. That is fine don't play it. Just because you don't speak french doesn't mean you are opposed to it does it? That is the way it seems.

Well, I had to learn french, and I am opposed to it... But then that is only because I didnt enjoy learning the language, as I didnt have much choice about it.

Someone get a Drow area started, and I'll join it.

Ok I talked to Jos. He said for people to mail him some stuff saying why he should put it in. Go ahead and start mailing him people if you want it. I am not sure if he meant PMs or actualy E-mails. I will talk to him about it. I think he meant PMs though so just send him those.

"Go ahead and start mailing him people," eh? Let's put trage in a box and mail him. He qualifies as "stuff saying why he should put it in," right? Yay!

*grabs trage and stuffs him in a FedEx box*

On topic: How many Drow characters would there be? 10, maybe? 10 people isn't much of a society.[/quote]

You can start a society with ten. And then, maybe once each player gets their character established, they could have another one each - but they would have to be very careful not to break the CR. Im sure we could dredge up more than ten people, if the drow area was created.

If you RP the culture of the Drow. Then you won't have to worry about multiple characters. You'll be working hard keeping one alive.

Drow. Many words for death. No word for ice cream.

Concur *runs around with a wagon and hauls the box in, ships it third class FedEx to Jos*

@Trage:

Its wonderful *coughs* that you may have posted excessively, but lets make sure you don't email Jos excessively either, otherwise well, I wouldn't count on Drow.

At least our area will actually have people who speak the language unlike the Russian area.

Well. A few people who speak it, and those of us who will be learning it as we go along. Would be good though.

In case you haven't noticed the link I posted in some other topics there is a nice translator you can use. There is also another that I don't know, but I think Rkl knows.

I had noticed, and I did have a look at it. I probably will end up using it, at least to start with. Trying to communicate with a limited vocabulary could be fun!

But the idea of a translator freindly area is interesting.

I mean in any language area at this point you should be trying to really learn the language as your using a translator.

Possibly other language alternatives like "noob french" or "faux french" and "broken english" (which I might say many people who have it as a native language seem to speak in the game and on the forum :P )
