Any Legacy remaining?
Sorry for not posting this in the 'returning members' thread, but call me vain and wanting this to get noticed. The game kind of randomly came to mind tonight and I did a little searching to see if any of my in-game contributions live on. Guessing my last posts, I'd guess my chars have been dead for over 3 years.
I suppose my 2 chars with the largest impact would be:
-Tanner Frost, founder and co-owner of TnT Automotive on Treefeather. Wondering if the company still exists or if anyone could tell me how what they remember last of it.
-Ben Clancy, a Magistrate of The Order of the Rose and a Councilor of Kwor. It looks like Dyl is still on the forums, so hopefully he gets back to me.
Feel free to PM sensitive info, I'm not getting back into the game but I'd love to hear if either group lived on in my absence.
And besides my characters, what's the coolest thing added since I've left? How many (known) islands are we up to? Did we ever implement children?
And finally, if anyone ever uses a real-time chat these days, lemme know and I'd like to pop in and get a pulse of things. Take care all.
Thanks!

Re: Any Legacy remaining?
Hey there. I'll answer your questions as best as I can.
T&T is defunct. The two remaining employees (one in Blojt forest east, the other in Mirovash), don't communicate and have essentially claimed the company's assets in those locations for themselves. Speaking personally, I never understood how T&T lasted as long as it did. I felt it's prices were ridiculous. Did they actually ever sell any vehicles to anyone? Just wondering.
The order may still exist, but if it does, it's fractured (every character I knew in it has died). Kwor was left to the Poles after Christine decided she had enough and sailed away. At least that's how it was when I had my character there. Maybe things have changed in the ten years since I left (there were three English speakers in Kwor when I left that didn't belong to my group. The Poles outnumbered them 3 to 1).

Re: Any Legacy remaining?
Hey TSL, good to see you pop on. As far as I know, the Order wasn't doing too well. My character wrote a few notes that might be kicking around somewhere, one of which is a small biography on Ben Clancy, another gives some general details on Templar initiation, including the ceremony. My character attempted to include a sort of expanded system of trials to make going through the tenets a bit more interesting, but he gave that up as it grew continually more difficult to find active initiates. The Karnon Forest chapel/monastery was left abandoned by it's personnel, and with the new but steadily growing Polish presence at Kwor, Radick found it easier to retreat to the solace of the Kwor monastery, where he died alone. (I still don't think multiple language groups in a text based game actually work. It's interesting at first, but it killed my interest in playing the character, as sifting through the Polish bar bar and English attempts to communicate with them becomes far too much work too fast) Someone carried on after him, but I think they tried to mainstream it. I would be surprised if there is anything of substance left of it. The Island's character base decreased in both numbers and quality, political action evaporated, and the economy went stagnant. Pretty much a write off.

On a side note, letting Lopan die was one of my bigger Cantr regrets.

Losing Lopan and AoM's char definitely made it difficult on Ben Clancy, as he may have been the only member of the Church alive after that.
Ben was always my favorite character....he spawned day 1000 in Kwor, which to my understanding was days after a massive pirate-led massacre (possibly by the infamous player Nick and his namesake char), was a founding Guild Leader and eventual Councilor, and was leading troops for the land-based part of the TBR/K-Isle war. The Church was well done but it was frustrating to put so much effort into Novices just to have them fall asleep. It's no surprise Karnon Forest Monastery fell (along with Lopan)....that area could get sleepy awful fast. And when Kwor dwindled from 80-strong to the teens, it just became difficult.
Some of the best RPing I'd seen in the game was thru B.C.
If anyone has the bibliography note on Ben Clancy, I'd really like to see it.

Re: Any Legacy remaining?
I had a character go to the KF monastery not very long ago.
It's sad to see that the tombs were looted and emptied. And the library was emptied also. I doubt much RP was involved with the destruction of the monastery either, since KF is a horrible place for RP now.

Re: Any Legacy remaining?
......Lopan and AoM's char were always talked about in a very reverent way...I would assume that every lock in the Kwor Cathedral has been popped and all of the Templars in the tombs raided of clothing.
But that's part of the game I suppose. Stealing notes has always been kind of problematic, but now that the game is so old we're really starting to see repercussions of losing its storylines.

Kaiyuu Meisora or something like that, wasn't it?
I was glad that you and he picked the faith up and ran with it. For a Cantr faith it had surprised longevity... and I believe is still referenced in some Gallagher maps.
So in short - thanks for what BC did. Was certainly appreciated by me, just sorry Lopan never contributed as much as he should have.

My character Rall Gue was in charge of the BFE branch of T&T from ~2700 to 2911 and had been a longtime employee before that. Business was pretty slow, but we did sell some vehicles. On 2911, Stone Knight Hans Windfall and a couple of others dragged Rall and a T&T employee named Draymar into a room and left them to starve. The only reason Hans gave was that he had information that Rall was plotting against him. I have no idea what he was talking about, so shame on that player for bad RP.

Re: Any Legacy remaining?
Mmh, seeing as how their are quite a few older players with fairly influential players nowadays I think this could become a good thread. So if you don't mind:
Anybody still remember Hunter Steel or Makior MacGregor? I always assumed those two characters of mine had the biggest impacts out of the rest.
Hunter Steel was the founder of the Norian Kingdom or something, in Wood Camp and using him, I actually ended up creating a semi-unique culture in that town with a nation with a goal, a personality, etc. I've always wondered what they were up to right now.
Makior MacGregor was a very old MacGregor and competed with Nick towards the end at becoming the most influential MacGregor. They started off as friends, and well.. relationship problems and differing views in politics caused them to drift apart. They both believed in different things for the good of the Clan. Nick however, eventually was able to kill Makior off so I don't know how the Clan's been doing. Makior never was able to publicize his views for the Clan too often-- just curious if anybody remembers him. I do remember that he was a well-liked MacGregor compared to the other ones, especially those under Nick's camp.

I remember Makior. I played Caillou Short and also Carina Faux.
Sadneses of all of this is, however, regardless if you remember these people, it's likely that they are not remembered IC or that there's few left to remember them.
