I don't think they would use text speak, some might just take more time to write than others.

I was about to say, not all characters would use chatspeak. Especially mine, since I dislike chatspeak in general (although I do use "lol" and "omg" at times). And most of my characters are mature enough to use actual correct spellings of words and whatnot, with a few exceptions based on the level of intelligence in those characters. That last clause only applies to two of my characters, though.


Anyways, my chars would text:

-- "OMJ I LOVE YOU, [insert name of her fiancée in all caps here]. <3 <3 <3"

-- "iaojtgfw2oae"
My character says: "Uhhhhhh… Ooooh! There's a...is that a two or a five? And what are the rest of those things?"

-- "I still cannot comprehend why such a device is necessary. Would a radio with multiple radio repeaters not work just as well?"

-- "Well at least I can spell."

-- "Dear World, I'm not dumb, I'm not deaf, I'm not delicate. So I'd really appreciate it if would please stop treating me like I am! Sincerely, [insert my character's name here]"
