In response to the new notice on the front page

I have never been happier that you guys decided to use auto-assigned numbers for our account names. A lot of us may be saved account hacking elsewhere largely in part to that. Also a saving grace is that most sites don't disclose your email address.
I just want to say thank you for being so up front with us, and I'm currently compiling a list of places where I may or may not need to change my password. Before that, though, I'm going to see if I'm contacted by Fake Cantr.
Honestly, though, I am not sure I want to share sentiments on what may occur, for a number of reasons erring on the side of caution, but I do want to say that I'm sure everything will be fine. =]
Best of luck to everyone.
EDIT: I almost feel like I don't have the right to say anything, being so new to the community.

I don't think he was complaining at all!

Are you sure? I hate to change my passwords. Here my password is 12345 and I do not want to change it. Another password would be too complicated. I think changing passwords is a big problem.

B.M.T. ¿Que no habla inglés? ¿Hablas español? ¡Él no se quejaba!
I probably got something wrong in that. But oh well.Change your password, especially now that you just told the world.
(Somehow, I doubt that's your real password, though.)

It is my real password and I will not change it.

I have nothing to hide.

...I wasn't complaining. I was just pretty much saying thanks for being honest and good luck to everyone else here in Cantr.
The part about my passwords was saying that I was going to be wary for the next few days/weeks.

I'm offended by the image. Of course someone would be. Well, it's me. I find it in very poor taste.

Agreed.
But still.
Take your own advice, B.M.T., and change your passwords or something.

Well, it's sort of standard in modern web applications to secure player passwords by encryption, and not display email addresses or any other sensitive information. Not that Cantr is anywhere near modern, but we're getting there slowly.
If anyone really get contacted from the fake cantr, we'd be happy to hear about it. If you know how to display email headers, copy the entire thing and PM it to me, or any other preferred GAB member.

I haven't been contacted...but yeah the fact that Cantr only uses numerical accounts means really there was only two places I really need to change my password ((I'm lazy ok...I use one password per 3 year stretch...)) My email and the forums. Email already done...should probably do forums here...they're the only two that can be linked to Cantr...except...oh crud monkeys...my story sight too soooo make that three places >.> but if anything this just means I have a new password to use...and remember...
And if contacted...I'll send the email to you guys here...

I generally have an email for various different uses, and have one specifically for Cantr. The onyl thing the bastard would get that is of any use to me would be my turn reports.
I have already changed it though, did it the moment Cantr went down (like I did the last time too) mainly because I don't want to take chances, and secondly...I love my turn reports!~

also i saw this posted in the cantr not working thread by Doug
"Things are looking brighter. I can't give any details, and while we're not out of the woods yet, there's cause to be optimistic at this point."
i soiled myself after 'brighter'
