Harvesting efficiency
As some of you may have noticed, there's new information on the Location page when you are outside. Harvest efficiency, based on the local climate, season, amount of rain and sunny days, is going to affect gathering rate of plants in a similar way as skills and tools. It's not enabled yet and Resources Department is working on the details, so there's some time to get used to it and report any problems you may notice with the system. More information will be available soon.

New Languages
The requirement for enabling a new language in Cantr recently changed to needing only 2 players who say they will make characters in the new language. You can request a new language at this form, and we will inform you when the language is available: https://forms.gle/u9HPJtuofzn1keAa9

There have been some changes to the Cantr Player Page:
* There are large buttons for each link at the top of the page, on a single row.
* There is now a "Create a new character" link at the bottom of the player page.
* The unsubscribe button is now only found inside the player Settings.
These and other interface changes may be altered again based on player feedback and iterative improvements. Thank you for your suggestions

Accounts now stay logged in for about 2 days instead of 3 hours. Also, you can stay logged in on multiple devices. Be sure to log out on public devices.

Starting April 20th, all automated emails are now sent from noreply@cantr.net. This change was due to emails not being received by Cantr's mailing list emails (e.g. support@cantr.net). For how to have Cantr emails not be sent to spam, see https://forum.cantr.org/viewtopic.php?f ... 73#p593573

The maximum number of characters you can make in a language is now the same as the total number of players who have a characters in the language, or 2 if you are the only one. This is to avoid some unreasonable situations where there are many characters but few players and therefore not enough separation. Remember that we don't allow having more than 2 characters in a town for any reason, and also please encourage more players to play in your language. :slight_smile:

Weather
As we mentioned a few months ago, we've now enabled the effects of weather for those resources that are plants. Your location page shows whether the harvest is good currently. In terms of gathering efficiency, there are five possible states, though there are different reasons for these states (like rain, sun, snow). The difference can be dramatic, though it does not completely stop project progress. Different types of locations tend to have different weather, so it is not equal across locations. Currently, all of the resources it affects are treated the same. We hope that your characters enjoy this new science.

Ticks and Game Progress
Progress in the game, known as ticks, previously occurred every few hours at specific times. This is no longer the case. Progress is now more continual (much more frequent), so there's not much advantage to doing something right before or after the tick.

Cotton
Cotton has historically been relatively difficult to gather. To make it more balanced with other resources, you can now gather cotton twice as fast by using a scythe.

Note: Overall progress on projects should be about the same as before. However, it's now twice as fast on the new Genesis server. Soon all players will be able to make characters there (currently it requires asking staff).

Sorry to not post this earlier, but we're having a meeting in less than an hour:
It is time again for us to have a meeting. The time we've set is Saturday (September 12th) at 9 AM PST. It is important that whoever is available participate, as we will talk about the new changes implemented, answer questions and plan Staff work for the coming months. No voice or listening is required as we'll communicate by both voice and chat, and there will be auto-translation of the channel.


Look for the #meeting channels (one for each language) on Discord. Stay tuned for the notes.

Account reactivations are now processed automatically in most cases.
You can login to old accounts, just note that it will be locked if you already have an active account.

Genesis: A tiny Cantr
Some time ago, we announced that we would be making changes to the Intro Server. We held a vote for the Player Board members to choose the name for this small new world: Genesis. This world currently has only 3 towns, which have a relatively large number of characters and resources.

You may now create a character on Genesis, and we encourage all players to have one character there. By default, your next character will be created on Genesis unless you uncheck "Create on Genesis" when you make your character. Your character is permitted to speak multiple languages on Genesis.

We hope that Genesis will help both new players and old players have a place to ask questions and to enjoy a more active gaming experience.

Now landmarks and sarcophagus are destroyable. Both kind of items will take for being removed as much time as it takes to build them, and they'll return half the resources used for building them. They'll also require the same tools to dismount them as the ones used for building them. This will start working at some point today

There are a few small changes, the most important is the visibility of character creation button, which in some situations made it impossible to create a new character despite being below the character limit

Landmark are a bit buggy and the option for tearing them down will be disabled temporarily. In the meanwhile we will have a small debate about the details for destroying landmarks.

Hello everybody.

Since today at some point all buildings are going to be able of being destroyed. How is this? Here we explain you all the details:

Buildings:
- Any building destroyed will turn into ruins.
- Any room or extension inside the building will turn into ruins too after the main does (there's no need to destroy every room and extension separately before starting with the main building).
- Requires the building to be completely empty (no locks, no items inside, no projects inside, no people inside at any of the rooms. Windows don't count).
- Harbours and landing stages can have ships and boats docked. They won't be damaged and will remain completely safe. Once the harbour or landing stage turns into ruins they will be there, completely intact, and will be able to undock safely. Ruins are not dockable, tho.
- Not all the buildings will require the same tools to be destroyed, but most of them require a crowbar at least.
- Buildings return no raws, and they take the same time for demolishing them than it takes for building one of its type.

Ruins:
- All the same as buildings, but once removed they are gone forever.
- Differently to buildings, rooms and extensions must be removed before trying to remove the main building.
- No ships or boats can be docked on the ruins. If so, you will get an error saying the building isn't empty and so far it will be impossible to remove the ruins.
- Can't be locked and they're "transparent" (you can see who's inside the main body, just like shipwrecks).
- They return raws that go from 50% to 80%, depending on the type of ruin.

Also: slowly during this weekend and part of the week many groups of things will get the option of disassembling them, and therefore recycling them. The method will be "default", what means items will take the same time as building them and probably the same tools, and will return half the raws.

It is important that you keep in mind that removing some building then takes double the time it took for building it. It's impossible to reconstruct some ruins and turn them back to what they were before, but processes can be stopped and reverted at any percentage of progress.
