Charater slip.

Postby Doug R. » Sat Mar 06, 2010 12:42 am

Wow, for maybe the second time since I've been playing, I totally got my characters confused. Luckily I didn't say anything too out of character (but it was out of character, none the less). Very disorienting...

It gets really awkward when a character suddenly says something in a different language. This happened to me a long, long time ago and I still don't know how. I had the right character selected, but the message was posted with another. Probably something caused by using the back button.

Did that once too, but somewhat different. I was playing one of my Swedish chars, and started thinking about how similar the current events were to some that happened to one of my English chars. And after thinking about that for a while my Swedish char replied in English. :D

RP'ed my way ot of it by having a fever and speaking in tongues. :)

I've done this twice since playing and its been so awkward that one such event made another character think mine had suddenly gotten ill.

Yet another time this was done I caused the entire town to STOP and look at mine all. O.o?

This is how drastically different my characters are from one another. I pay EXTRA EXTRA EXTRA attention, now.

Last week I had a dream that I was having my mute character speaking. It was so real I fretted about it for days. But I've mixed up my characters a couple times before. Nothing to worry about, really. Other players understand. It's probably happened to everyone at some point.

I've seen a few confuse sexes too. When a he suddenly becomes a she... I ask questions...

We talking in emotes? Cause sometimes this sorta just happens. I've mostly male characters (only one female character, actually) and sometimes do "she" or "her" in an emote on accident. This is a typo usually when thinking about the POV for character... mean to type "He looks at her" and get "She looks at her" before reading and editing. Or drop the S on she (this is more common).

This was definitely not a typo...
