Hi there,

Ok, you must agree, 'the ads by google' are boring as hell. Who wants to translate stuff to russian (no offence)? Well, I don't. I want links to other rpg stuff, or games related stuff. Or political stuff. Or whatever! But not to places where you can translate stuff, and learn languages!

Anyway, the reason why these ads are so boring, because they're based on what google has in it's database about this particual page. And it will have a high ranking if it comes to languages (see the languages on top of the page ).

You can change this by adding more info about the game itself to the main page, so you will get some better discriptions, and a higher clicktrough rate...

What do you all say?

Yes, Jochem, you're right. I already emailed about this with Google and they cannot make any changes and only base it on what we have as contents on that page. We will change it at some point ... It should be more cheesy anyway

I don't mind the google ads, actually. No noise, no movement, no flashy colors, just easy-to-ignore text. woots.

Eeep. I just hate them. These aren't that bad, becuz they don't pop up either.

I like them if they help us to keep Cantr free, yes. And I believe, you should share this love.

Well, unless you love donating money better, that is. Then I would even support your hate.

I guess I can make -neutral- relations with these ads. Just as long as they stay on their side of the screen, and clear of my beloved chars. And no touching my chars either...

One small sugestion... maybe move the ads up? Ok, I know, if you do that, they will become even more iritating. But ppl now checking the page, don't see teh ads, cause you have to scroll (and most ppl don't scroll).

Why not put a link to Amazon there? I'm sure that most people are much more interested in buying books than in translating things to Russian. Amazon is a big, international player in that department.

They pay you a percentage of the books purchased through the link, without making those books more expensive. So anybody who wants to buy a book through Amazon anyways can make Amazon donate money to Cantr

Oh I forgot to mention: they have CDs, videos, DVDs, magazines and even apparel and food, too, nowadays. These items could also be bought through that link.

Yes, so just post the word that if someone wants to order something from Amazon, they should click the link on the main page and then go about their business. If they're like me Cantr is the first thing they do everytime they go online anyway, so that would work wonderfully.
