Is it possible to have a character that is expert at everything?

I see no reason why not. You would have to be incredibly lucky or a thousand years old though.

I'm out on that rumble...I would have to play my existing charries until I'm 100! Hehe Though, I have one who is expert at 8 skills thus far.

The highest amount of expert skills per one person is currently 13, and only two charries have accomplished that. Ten charries have 12 expert skills, 15 charries have 11 expert skills and so on. If we look at the sum of all skills a character has discovered, the largest sum is 174241 from 22 skills, which gives an average of 7920. 8200 is the lower limit of expert.

<3 Seko. I was going to ask that in the Cantr statistics awhile back but forgot.

And, just for curiosity, Seko, could you post that but with the awkward level instead? :)

There's one unfortunate person with 10 awkward skills, three with 9 awkward skills and several with 8. 7 is already very common. I would've expect a bell curve but it only peaks at 2, maybe because people are less likely to have tested several of their skills so even if they were going to be awkward at many things, the skill is only generated when they try to use it. Most people have 2 awkward skills that they have found, the next most common is 3, then 1, then four and so on.

That's interesting. I'd always thought skills were set at the char's creation and it was just a matter of "uncovering" them to where the player could see them. So, the moment a char attempts to use a skill, that is when the level is (randomly?) determined?

Well, it's affected by the genes they get from their spawn parents and I'm pretty sure those need to be generated at the moment of spawning, but I think the final value is only figured out when the skill is first used.
