Basicaly the idea of this thread is to try to learn the best way of roleplaying by using constuctive critsm (CC)
You probably already know what cc is but on another board ive been part of there have been lots of stuff on how to cc effectivly and prehaps the same principals can be aplied to RP.
So the idea of cc is
To tell someone how to improve without embarssing them, not expressing you word as undeniable truth, being kind, knowing what you are talking about
e.g.: I like the way your character speaks consistently but prehaps you should use more emotes
That would be an example of cc not nesesserily good cantr tips but an idea of how to set out cc.
Anyway before I babble further: You can put your own character cc in this thread if it pleases you but you can also tell the character occ in game or though any other channels.

This really is exactly the same as the other topic in my opinion.

It sort of is.

Don't use exact numbers.
1010 grams should be 'About a kilo.'
64% should be 'A little over half way done.'
Directed at just about everyone.
etc.
EDIT: It's pretty redonkulous to know how much your carrying to the gram. Also, I can see using exact numbers with jewels and the such...

I do that.

Unless your charrie is extremely analytical and does that sort of thing for EVERYTHING in DETAIL all the time

"I'm about 64,8% done. That's only a rough estimate of course."

I would tend to disagree with that. I would suggest that you use OOC as little as possible in game. Especially when giving advice on RP. If it is something important than yes, but overall OOC comments take away from the feel of the game, and since giving CC in game could lead to lenghty OOC disscussions I would advise against it.
There, that was my CC...

Hehe..
And I guess I am one of the 'very few' that do not say it exact in grams.
Oh, wait.. I did once... No.. It was still; About.. fifty grams of silver.

The thing is, I don't think many of the people who rp badly read topics like this. You either have to tell them in-game or experience wrath over things that shouldn't necessarily be visible to the character. You can say that if someone writes all lowercase that they are mumbling or whispering, and if someone uses no punctuation then they speak very fast or monotonously. And if someone never smiles or emotes otherwise, you could say that their expressiveness is like that of a block of wood.

Those are good IC-ways to put it.

I have to disagree. Whether or not your character fusses over gram amounts is up to you, but I always figured that characters had the ability to perceive gram amounts. If they didn't know the difference between one gram and two, it wouldn't show up on the inventory page.
If they didn't know the difference between sixteen buffalo and eighteen, it wouldn't show up on the animal page.
With things like project completeness and especially damage, I don't think the above logic (using that term loosely) applies. Gram amounts are physical aspects that a character could theoretically sit down and count out. How close a person is to dying isn't something we can sort into piles and weigh, so saying "Camo Joe is 75% dead" is still lame in my opinion.

El_Skwidd, I was going to say something along those lines -- that I always thought in terms of grams at least that my charrie was born with the ability to distinguish the exact weight of something...sort of like I can hold a dumbell and say with a fair amount of certainty that it is 10ibs, etc. But...I guess it just depends on your point of view.

Grams and pounds are EXTREMELY different stories. With a pound you can get a general weight easily as it's a big difference. Have you ever picked up something and said "This is so many ounces."
