Cantrian name for Cantr
Do characters call their world Cantr? This sort of came up when one person called himself "Postmaster of Cantr," which my character was puzzled by as he had never heard that word used before. (He's never been to Cantr City, either.) I think that people in different parts of the world would have different names for it, and none of those names would be the name that us participant-observers call it.
This leads me to another question: To what extent can OOC words, names and languages be used in Cantr? There was a religion based around Jos a while back, wasn't there? There are also quite a few people (myself included) who use names and/or languages taken from J. R. R. Tolkien's books. The word "Cantr" is also, in a way, an OOC word. Are these considered minor CR breaches, "bad manners" or acceptable?

That's a very good question. The church of Jos was condoned by Jos am I right? Cuz of the bad rp...using the world cantr...hmm I dunno. I guess if it refers to the world, then it's ok, because it's just like us calling our planet earth, and since somehow everyone in cantr speaks the same language than it would make sense no? <<< did that make sense?
I just can't stop coming back....

No one ever labeled the world that our character live in. The game is called Cantr (and a few locations on one island), not the world.
I know of some places that have different names for the world.
I would like to say again that the world isn't called anything and sooner or later the naming of locations will be up to our characters so soon enough the world will become even more dynamic.

this change happens my characters wont leave where they are at, they will just sit and grow fat in place or just sit and die in one place. A change like that seriously brings to mind a quit from cantr.

Yeah, but listen, the names will probably remain the same for the most part anyway. Let's say Seatown Forest decides to change it's name to Yummtown. When your character is in Krif and says, "I just came from Yummtown" everyone is going to go "huh? what's that? Oh you mean Seatown Forest, right?"

We managed the change from knowing people names to not knowing peoples names alright, we would manage the change from being able to change place names alright too. Everything in the already established world would remain the same anyway, as everyone knows where they live at the minute. Making a mountain out of a mole-hill.
People don't change....perceptions do.

My question is will the town names remain the same even though you can change it? or will they suddenly go blank like the names of the people did way back then? if it goes blank then it will ruin the game for me i wouldnt be able to play it anymore i think. Either i wont play anymore or my characters wont move from the towns they live. I just think its to much of a change, i like it how the town names are right now...
