Stuttering

I've noticed that there seems to be some kind of pandemic of stuttering across all the english lands. About one in ten people seem to have some form of speech impediment.
What draws people to these "SUPA SUPA QUIRKY" kinds of characters with only one real key feature and no depth?

How do you know they have no depth? Have you interacted that intensely with them?
I have had a stuttering character since I started my account, and I assure you, she has a lot of depth. Sidenote:some people stutter to show their character's nervousness.
Anyways, way to randomly insult the playing styles of everyone, and way to lump everyone in to the same playing type (see:lacking depth) without bothering to get to know each character to find that depth,
I'm sure some have none, but the ones I've met, along as my own, mostly do have depth. A lot of people can vouch for me specifically on this one.

There are a few stutterers out there along with other speech impediments and weird dialects. Speaking nearly like a pirate, caveman, jamaican, not having a voice at all but scribbling on something, SCREAMING all the time, sing-song or rhymes.
Stuttering seems to be indicating a range of emotions, insecure, nervous, shy, rushed, shocked, angry, overwhelmed, sad, depressed and probably a dozen others. That may be why you feel that way. A few of mine has delivered a line or two of slight stuttering in various situations. So, I guess it adds up.

I was just thinking the same thing. It doesn't help when they get on the radio and make it seem even more prevalent
but yes, it is typical behaviour of roleplayers to give characters their own personality + one quirk, as noted by Richard Bartle.

All the stuttering characters I know have plenty of depth.

And have you interacted intensely enough with every single stutterer enough to know that they
do all have depth? Man, way to lump them all together into one stereotype.

Did I not say "I'm sure some have none"?

I've one that sorta stutters but I'd not really call it a stutter so much as a word repeat. He doesn't get stuck on syllables and its a thought process. You can see it in his speech that he doesn't think before he speaks but thinks as he speaks so he repeats beginning words etc until a thought is formed.
I'd have to go with Reb on this one.... OMG! I R's agree!
Also have another character that 'talks funny' and I've not seen his 'speech pattern' ANYWHERE else. Doesn't mean its not there as I only have seven characters but who knows.

Or a SLEW of Quirk...s.

I don't like people who stutter, talk with an accent, or talk in other ways odd in cantr.
I kill those who do.
