I was wondering, How many English speaking islands are their in Cantr? Because I thought I knew were all of them were from maps but than I had a charachter spawn on a new one. Oh and are new islands still being created?

So far I have found, treefeather, The big one with many names containing Siom and the black atlas, Shai, Kwor and now the new one is Aki?

There are no real language specific islands anymore. The world becomes smaller and smaller everyday with people from all kinds of languages moving to other islands.

Are their still spawn specific Islands though like, Polish spawn here, English spawn here and than they often sail to eachothers islands.

No, when there are two characters from a certain language it is possible for another character from that language to spawn there.
There are no set spawnlocations anymore.

Actually Wiro, that is not quite true from what I recall. The smaller language groups still have set spawn locations, but all of the major language groups do not.

All of the islands have been made for quite some time, and there are no plans to create more (except for the possibility for a newbie island). All of those locations have resources set, but some may be lacking animals (the animal part may change in the future).

I was talking about the big language groups anyway, maybe I should've made that a bit more obvious. Though, the only group that currently has set spawnlocations are the Finnish. (If we're to believe the public language group statistics.)

Setting these spawning location would only bring over populated towns, unless you keep monitoring it, offcourse.

It would be nice though, to keep the places far away from the initial islands for a specific language somewhat... seperated.
For example: I made 2 new chars, and instead of spawning on the islands were most of the people who speak the same language as I do are, I spawned on some strange far away island :?
I didn't really liked that :( It's no dissaster, but I would've appreciated it if I spawned on more, say, 'common' spots

It is true about the spawnlocation. And it starts to get annoying as everyone circulates round these two places(partly for the for the new Cantrplayers) and now and then someone goes for mapping and never returns.Good enough one guy got the idea to make a new town, but it must be disturbing if you spawn to an abandoned place...:( Maybe it should be changed, what do you think seko?

tazer, you really should read up on the game rules. In particular, information about the game world should come from your characters' experiences. That's also how those maps have been created and that's why they tend not to be complete. So don't ask on the forum for people to help you find island or explain why maps are the way they are - only play with your character on the basis of the information that specific character has, from notes etc., and if you want to ask something about the map, the character can do that, in roleplay, in the game.

This keeps the game much more fun than if people exchange all information here :-)

You will have to find that one out in game.

tazer wrote:And is their any particular reason its not in any of the world maps?

Because you haven't put it there
No, really. All maps are made by characters in game, so you will have to map it yourself or find a map that someone else has made.

At least Aki is one of the more nominal English islands. Cantr, Treefeather, Nonirok, Shai, and Aki made up the "English 5". Though some of the islands belonging to other language groups have a decent English population now (Omeo comes to mind).

I always wondered where Aki was as well, I think it's only been recently (as in 100-200-300 days) that I've seen an Akian not on Aki so the actual location wouldn't be widespread knowledge. Personally, I'd like to keep it like that since Aki's pretty unique. :D

As you play, you'll build up a geography of the world in your mind. I can name, 15-18 islands right now that I know the exact location.

Andu, If that guy really manages to get a town started and doesn't croak then maybe we could request it to be made a spawn location. Although it sounds a bit silly that two spawn locations were side by side. Maybe the old down could be abandoned and we'd leave a note saying come to X if you want to live, then that would be a sort of an intelligence test to weed out the cheaters who don't actually know Finnish.

I think the Chinese region shares an island with the Polish and English. Only because I've found notes in those two languages. It makes sense though because Chinese region has very few characters.
