Well, the first step in any of these animal control measures (animal food (with herbivores and carnivores), one hit per animal, animals attacking each other, etc.) would be making animals separate individuals, and that has not happened yet. Does anyone have any ideas that would not require this to be done?

*shrugs* I've suggested this a number of times.
Instead of having that 'You can only attack this <blah> once a day', make it so each character can attack ten times per day. Or some other number. Not only would it make hunting easier, it would also make mass-murder of towns tougher.

would aslo mean if you had it in for a single person but you could still hit them until they die before they had a chance of hitting back or getting away

best way i can with helping with the animal problem for now with out havinbg that change to animal's being single entities is let us hit an animal once an hour instead of once a day leave it once a day for char's cause that seem's to be working for now but let us hit animal's moe often

no. Jos sent a message to all players in game. I removed it off my account or I would post it exactly here.

Basically there is hope, the rules have changed, base your obsevations from this day forward (well two turn ago).

How'bout basing the number of attacks on the number of animals? E. g. if there's a pack of 8 hawks, you could attack them 8 times in a day (without seeing each hawk as individual).

I think that would be bad, you have 64 animals in one location you can attack them 64 times? i think that would be bad..

(bad as in not good)

Also did you see what i think of it?

Bad? You know what's bad?

about 60 animals in 1 place, 21 of them are bears. about 6 people at that location, lightly armed, killing 1 bear each day.
Every day the number of bears inrease, rather then decrease.

Some fun ey?

From the point on the change on the issues of animal density and agression is a resource department issue.

There is a certain amount of inertial animal movement still to. So give it about the length of your trails in days to settle down.

From that point what you may be seeing is a reginal issue that may need to be addressed. (Help Help we have 7 Elephants) SO ask the resource dpet about it.

If you don't receive a response then the answer may be (Well your screwed then aren't you?)

Also any manual adjustments made effect character naturalists who study these things. So it should be the player of your most knoweldgable on animals that complains so they know that something odd was done to fix something.

Well, Meh, you know my opinion on the matter. All I can say is that I think the Cantr world should be a little bit more dangerous. Life is getting a little bit boring for characters.'t

Anyways, I lost one of my sailor characters to the animals. He has discovered an unpopulated and unknown island in the world. Hopefully the others with him survive.

Anyway, I don't think the animals were that bad. I only lost 1 character. It seems from what I read is that the animals were bad in unpopulated or newer locations or a particular area.

Oh yeah. I like the more dangerous. But it was way too much. And if it gets too tame in a long time area the resource dept still has the option to spice things up on a local level....

...Were did those 10 rabid elephants go. Let me redirect to Lad?...

just kidding...

The non-English areas took a harsh beating even in their civilized areas.

In the English areas there was enough of a combination of animal preservists and hunters of the wild to keep things tame. There may be still mean things heading towards the old English spawn locations from some forgotten location.

And now Aki island has a chance to survive. How easy that is is up to the characters and the resources dept.
